And tbh I don’t think SM planned this just a week or two before. Negotiations for this year’s Coachella have been going on for the longest time now.

 

Coachella always had some different stuff for weekend 2. I don’t know why this is so surprising.

Did Twice not release an English single last year that did very well for them and boost the fandom a lot? That was 7 years in and they now have one of the biggest concerts in the US for girl groups across the board. RV is still SM’s most global group right now and they’re still growing even without releasing a velvet song in awhile.

 

Not saying Aespa shouldn’t be pushed but why didn’t RV get one even when they were upcoming?

Well they were on Coachella poster, idk why Aespa wasn't announced sooner but hope they had time to prepare their set. Wonder is this happen often with Coachella performers? anyway we will see if they replace someone in the next schedule.

Arcade Fire were announced for Coachella’s weekend 1 less than 48 hours before their performance and they had a spot saved for them btw.

But the details it’s not what matters. A slot was booked under 88rising. 88rising organized their own line up not the Coachella organisation.

aespa’s slot wasn’t booked yesterday, trust me. the schedule for weekend 2 isn’t even out yet. 

 

they’ll have a slot for them on the MAIN STAGE just like the article said, don’t worry.

This happens all the time with Coachella, Gaga was planned as the surprise headliner for 2020, but it got cancelled cuz of Covid, so she was never announced on the intial line up. Her team only revealed it once the Chromatica era had basically wrapped up promotions when they were like "yeah a lot sh*t didn't work out for us this year".

Oh ok. So Aespa set isn't a last minute thing it's just announced late. Good because it means they had time to prepare their set.
