Felix and Hyunjin sounding a mess

Posted

Hyorin's voice was always raspy but it's got more and more so over the years... there's definitely some damage. Still a world class vocalist but not quite as brilliant as she was during Sistars early peak for sure.

Even then, when Sistar blew up in 2012, he voice was often trash -- presumably from overwork while they were getting when the getting was good.  Then towards the end of 2013, her voice became consistently strong and reliable.  Then during their last "Like That" promo, her voice started to betray her almost as badly as Starship did.  I haven't been paying attention to her solo career.

Paint The Top is a guilty pleasure bop.

It’s not that serious. Fearless may be basic but it still a bop, you guys are brainwashed by noisy/teen crush music. Sometimes you just have to vibe. You will get it one day.

KPOP stans are so used to maximalism in the genre that the minute someone releases a more laid-back song it's seen as "boring" & "weak"  :toofunny2:

Like, let's just be glad they didn't debut with some experimental mess like every other GG is doing.

Lmao chill

i literally said I love the song it’s a cute runway-ready track. But just not strong or memorable enough to be a DEBUT song from a highly anticipated gg that’s expected to make some kinda “statement” as they debut, especially since their male counterpart ENHYPEN did a great job at that. It’s nothing serious, doesn’t mean I hate the song itself.

lesseraflop serving us an unmemorable h&m changing room hit has nothing to do with whether it's "girl crush noise" or not, if they served us an unmemorable girl crush noise tiktok compilation hit like purplekiss did a bit back plenty of fans of "girl crush noise" groups would have lashed it as such and same goes if they released a teencrush STAYCcore song that happened to be unmemorable

I think that to be an IT girl, you need to have to be able to produce some sort of intrigue about you. Something that makes the audience want to know more about you. It's not just about dancing or singing well, it's also about innate personality and the way you carry yourself. And I'd argue that to produce intrigue you need to have some sort of duality about it endearing and/or surprising when you do random things, because that's what creates buzz online. So in that sense, sad to say but chaewon and yunjin do not have that IT factor. They're just enthusiastic pretty girls that sing and dance well, there's really not much else to anticipate. You've seen it once, you've seen it all. :michael:

The only ones with the IT factor in LSFM are Sakura, Kazuha and Garam, but in different ways and to varying extents.

Sakura is pretty, but she's also really dorky and awkward but she does her best to put on a show which makes her endearing, and her constant improvement keeps fans coming back.

Kazuha is a (legit) ballet dancer and she carries herself with that grace, but at the same time she has a low voice, does the rapping and is able to let go when she has to on stage. Even more bonus points for the backstory about literally being scouted in the netherlands 6 months ago. An ace and yet an underdog. She's literally the perfect storm of interest generation. It's no wonder her fancam views are so high right off the bat. Everyone wants to know how she's doing, it helps that she's actually doing great on stage so people keep coming back for more.

Garam fits the mysterious ice queen archetype to a tee. She knows how to work her gaze well. I think what matters most for her now is whether she'll be able to show enough of her personality in variety programs to captivate people (ie Jennie screaming and crying in a haunted house). Given how little she's been talking so far, it feels like HYBE has given her a gag order because of the scandal, and that's going to impact her IT girl potential in he short term. Which is a problem for LSFM as a whole because she's the only one with actual potential to be an IT girl in Korea (since Sakura and Kazuha aren't Korean). And it's pretty clear HYBE were trying to push her since she's the one starting and ending Fearless.

So with no Wonyoung in the group as of now, it seems that their success/recognition amongst the GP (at least) in the short term is hinging purely on how well their songs click. Things would have been different if they had Minju to fall back on, but since they've got Kazuha instead, I do suspect that HYBE will be pushing them more in Japan. I've seen some of yall talking about how Rei is gonna take over Japan, and she's a cute girl.... But when you put cute next to gorgeous, gorgeous is going to devour cute. With Sakura's pre-existing power over Japan + Kazuha bringing in more fans, I really do think it will be easier for LSFM to take over Japan as opposed to Korea. Japan's girl group situation has been in the pits for a long time now (post AKB falling off), and I think with the proper push, LSFM have what it takes to really make it big there.

Eun:Chae

It’s ok. IVE will be more successful in Korea, Lesserafim will be more successful in Japan.
And Rei will still make sure IVE is successful in Japan. Both groups win at the end.
I’m just happy that ggs are thriving:clap3:

After 2 years and 3 months, there's a live recording audience for Music Bank once again.

  • Walking After U, CLASS:y, ICHILLIN', MINSEO, LE SSERAFIM, ALICE , MIYEON((G)I-DLE), MoonByul, YOUNITE, DKB, JUST B, VERIVERY, E'LAST, 4MEN, MONSTA X, WOODZ, RYEOWOOK

If they say the camera adds 4.5kg, then Wonyoung must look ghastly in person. :eddie:

Anyway, there's only 2 girl groups on MuCo tomorrow.  Because there is no room for more girl groups!

Her eyes are already opened wide af what more do u want from her :cries:

Real talk tho I think it may take longer than that. Yeri debuted in 2015 and it took her till like... Psycho (2019)????? For her to really bring it more consistently in terms of overall presence in the group/video/performances.

Eunchae is doing fine, she has nice stage presence and is kinda cute, she’s not looking out of place among other girls during performance. It’s just that she seems a bit toned down, maybe because she’s the youngest, and she got like 5 seconds of lines in Fearless so it’s not like the company gave her a lot of possibilities to shine… she will be good once she will get more space in the next TT, which I hope will happen

In my opion they seem to be well balanced group. I watched their reaction to that weird „The world is my oyster” teaser and them taking animal MBTI test, it was pretty funny and I think they definitely needed Garam and Eunchae in the group

All of the girls are beautiful and talented. For now it’s nothing groudbreaking but in my opinion they served a well balanced and solid debut

Anyone who said Fearless was a bad song was lying. It was never bad just plain but even then it’s grown on me a little.
