After a phenomenal 2021 and great start to 2022 with DCT/Step Back they just completely fumbled the bag.

 

Prioritizing Western promo over Asian promo despite not being established in Asia. 

Complete lack of presence in Korean media (2 weeks of promo and only performing on each show once, hardly any variety appearances, no fixed member on any show)

Pushing Life's Too Short HARD despite 0 noise being made.

Releasing Illusion out of nowhere with 0 hyping and then failing to capitalize on the song taking off. 

Always mediaplaying to make them seem bigger than they are (Coachella "main stage", "1M in queue for Japan showcase" "fastest Korean gg to land on BB200" "Aespa invited to UN after BP and BTS")

Allowing them to literally be harassed at a school festival with 0 security

Giving them a boy group noise track as their title song with an absolutely horrid dance

Releasing an album with half the songs being previously released  

 

Seeing how SNSD was promoted for their 15th anniversary is lovely as a Sone but also annoying as an aespa fan because SM clearly still knows how to dominate the scene in Korea. SNSD has been everywhere the past couple of weeks. But they just aren't doing anything for aespa besides trying to make them the next BTS/BP which just isn't going to happen.

 

It's so frustrating as a fan  Just focus on giving them good music and promoting them in Korea/Asia PLEASE  

 

 

 

 

 

I think companies need to realise sometimes having a huge moment in Korea will actually help your international presence and lots of causal Kpop fans check out Korean promo anyway  All those US things are great but should be done as an additive.

The US promo should only happen if there's demand, and Idk why kpop labels seem to be unable to see past the US and take a look at the rest of the world, For example, if your act is doing well in a random country like France You can give them some cute promo in that specific country and see what happens with each release in the rest of the world and see the patterns, etc. 

 

As for SM, just like they refuse to give good music to NCT for their titles they are doing the same to aespa and even worst, because the Girls Mini is atrociousNCT has never released such a mediocre, dispossble, body of work, like tbh, they need to rethink their strategy and balance out what matters most, if the songs don't smash, Karina and Winter won't unlesash their it girls potential and just remain as known idols like, Mark, Taeyong, Lucas or Jaehyun, just known flop idols, nothing more, nothing less.

Gaeul is always getting hyped when she’s barely singing. 

Aespa case isn’t that bad. Itzy it’s even worse barely a year old already English album that no once cared when they could’ve been promoted In japan, Friday release, JYp sacrificed their Korean popularity it kinda worked even if their songs were getting mixed reactions. For some reasons they targeted Korea again, now they’re charting even like a nugu group internationally.  
 

when will companies understand that BP and BTS weren’t huge internationally in 3 months, it took time, they were already established in Korea and Asia while none of these groups are household names.
