HYBE owns 100% of ADOR and 80% of Source Music. But ownership doesn't mean that headquarters completely control subsidiaries management. All labels are independent entities, but HYBE gets involved on a certain level (if they want to or if label also finds it beneficial). LSRFM is officially known as the joint project between HYBE and Source Music. HYBE Chairman Bang PD is the executive producer and their creative director was also transferred from BigHit. Their management style is very similar to BTS, TXT, EN. They also have their own universe/webtoon which is also part of HYBE Universe bullshit and are bound to promote whatever HYBE wants (like NFT or certain apps/ventures, for example). On the other hand, HYBE and Bang PD have no involvement with ADOR aside from funding. That's why Min Heejin said that they have guaranteed autonomy and HYBE didn't know their promotion/management style. NewJeans is managed in the way she wants to; team is fully made of people that came to HYBE with her or were hired after label established and they don't use in-house producers, but people from BANA. She held listening session to introduce group and its colors to HYBE officials, not to convince them. HYBE officials called it boring and unpopular, but she went ahead with her plan regardless. This isn't about inflating views or "fairness", it's the new normal. It's because of a shift in the algorithms in basically every social media. The big companies (Google, Meta) don't push new releases and don't trend or recommend them unless they pay for ads, and it's not even that expensive. NewJeans may not have invested in youtube ads, they deffo had the push money go elsewhere. And while as a KPOP stan I know that the 27M views in the Attention MV don't reflect the success of the song, western labels, brands and investors do look at those numbers (plus other factors obv) to decide where to put their money.
