It just increased exponentially with Taylor's success. And we're at an all time high of hate right now because we're also at an all time high of success. 

 

The fans of the new girls hate her because Taylor takes all the space and don't let the new ones explode and dominate. The fans of the girls that started around the same years as Taylor hate her because she left them in the dust. And finally, the fans of the "older" girlies hate her because she is coming for their faves neck (or already surpassed them). 

 

Just like with Madonna in her time, Taylor is hated to high heaven now. Later on in her career, when the dust has settled down, everyone will recognize her for what she brought and for her artistry. Right now, nobody wants to root for her. 

It's true that the kind of hate Taylor gets right now reminds me of the hate Madonna got at her peak. I wasn't even born yet when Madonna was at her absolute peak but i've been a stan for many years and i know how ugly things were. And it was even worse in 2009-2012 when Gaga stans were blatantly saying Gaga entirely "replaced" her and was better than her in every way, it was something to witness 

 

Things were pretty bad in 2021 thought, especially when they thought Olivia "replaced" Taylor. There was already this desire to write off Taylor for good. But it's true that there's been an escalation since Midnights came out and the Eras Tour started, people have become even more violently hateful.

 

As i said, the real problem is the fact that mods are in on it, i wouldn't mind the hate as much as it wasn't the case
