Selegend Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 When u think about it — Rare numbers would be like WAYYYY bigger if the rollout was LYTLM wed, LAHN thur (like it was) and the album on Friday! All on the same week. everyone would’ve listened to it cuz the hype was huge, the debut would be way bigger, i honestly do think we would’ve a LOT of album tracks with 100m on Spotify if this was the rollout and its easy to see... since Selena is very famous its veryyy easy for her to create hype, but since she doesnt promote a lot its hard for her to keep the hype alive! So a doc + an album release, together, is a very strong possibility. They can believe the doc will create the hype and they would release the album together or the following week so she doesnt lose hype… in that way she has a chance to have a successful album but focus on her acting career at the same time. It makes sense. jxbuggie Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 (edited) I’ve been thinking about the logistics of the documentary, I don’t think July makes sense unless it’s just the announcement or even trailer. I feel like there could be like two options, it will probably be announced first then a while for us to get a trailer and more time for a release date. Another option is like what Netflix did with JLO, trailer this week and release like a month after. Even at that, it was announced a few months back. Aleen is a business woman when it comes to things like this. Also most recent artist documentaries had tours to support the rest of the footage. Guess this could be a follow her around for a year while she launches new projects, rare beauty, mental health, records music etc. I’m excited but the suspense is killing me. Demi seems to become friendly again whenever she works to remain sober; perhaps this is a good sign. (Demi recently updated their pronouns to include she/her; I don't intend to offend!)

She tried many times and after what happened last time I’d be turned off forever from reaching out or reconciling.

I'm a fan of both (lol), so of course I always root for them for nostalgic reasons, but if I were Selena, even I would be reluctant to reconcile with Demi on a deeper level than just a casual "hello" here and there. It's almost best to avoid mentioning it to the media at all if they're friendly again, because the amount of analysis's done on what they say or don't say to one another just encourages toxic behavior among fans.

I don’t know, I guess if nothing comes in June I won’t expect anything for her bday. Maybe she announces it on that day and releases it in like August. Maybe she wants it to premiere at a film festival; Gaga did the same with hers, I think TIFF if i remember correctly. Maybe Selena chooses Venice. There are a lot of possibilities. I just think releasing both an album + a doc that compliment each other on her 30th birthday that coincidentally fall on a Friday is such a perfect oportunity. Let’s see what happens! It has been quite some time, i dont even know if she teased at all this year. i think selena always choses pop over other genres that are more popular now she revived wisper pop but failed to make something outstanding with rare an album with tracks from 2016, i think selena need to innovate in sound, pop it's great but she need a blinding lights or don't start now kind of moment, in comparision LYTLM was something very different even LAHN but the rest if not forgetable they losted in the boom of rnb and rap in spotify and AM, so i'm hyped i need to see what she has prepared

I guess they probably mix some categories for some of them so HoYeon Jung from Squid Game. Interesting thing is that i liked even more the show AND selena’s acting watching it for the second time — didnt see that coming since i already knew who was the killer and stuff but it happened.
