I really want casting news. Besides OMITB season 5 there's nothing that we know of for next year. Hopefully the Jordan Peele casting rumor is true. I see how Sydney, Zendaya and Florence are booked and busy I want that for her. Before she had to juggle Rare, music and other projects. Music is definitely taking a back seat for a while so there is time now.

There's Linda Ronstadt's biopic. Filming might start earlier next year. I'm optimistic about this one, it will not be another Spiral or Dollhouse. 

In The Shadow will happen too, not in the near future but both Selena and Silvia are talking about the project so it's not shelved.

I hope for some news too. 

She can't spill a lot as she does with music. She has talked about new things coming in her interviews so I'm really positive and can't wait for more roles.

The thing about the biopic is that the current director is super busy and filming 2 movies before it. Unless they change the director it will probably take a while. I hope Aleen is doing her job and showing her interesting things.

@ShadeIena So I just downloaded a bunch of leaked Selena demos from that one thread of yours and I keep listening to them as if I'm pretending I'm listening to new album release   I actually haven't listened to most of them so it's been very interesting. Am I delusional to say a lot of them are kinda good? Of course they're not finished and some feel dated but I'm kinda glad we can listen to them. I guess this is how thirsty I am for new Selena music

Looking at Mi Camino streams, It doesn't look like there are a lot of fans who want music. She would need release something which pleases the GP or her casual listeners and that's not easy to predict/get right. They like Selena's "sad girl music" but she doesn't seem to be in that mood rn. If she was not in a big label, she even could release anything, but big labels want good profit. But she should just respond with a "no new music anytime soon".

i don't think we should judge from Mi Camino

'Single Soon' was barely 1 year ago and it debuted at #10 on global spotify

she just needs to create hype like she did with that song if she wants to be a popstar again

i don't even think her less chronically online stans knows that the song is out and the GP clearly has NOO idea. 

 

anyway, i don't think Selena will give us a solo major release (even if it's a single) until 2026. 

we're lucky if we get collabs and/or soundtracks next year. 

 

Her acting career is truly skyrocketing rn. Even with the fact that i would LOVE to hear a new album and solo songs i honestly don't even think she should focus on music right now...

she's currently on the edge to be a respected actress and she has already a more than 1 decade career of being a successful pop star, that's insane!

when i ignore my own feeling of missing new songs its crystal clear that she should keep aiming for her acting goal/dream, it's 100% working.
