Do we know if she's attending the Met Gala? I will forgive no album in 2024 if she serves another 2018

Also S&M about to hit 1bil so that's something to celebrate I guess

Yes she is

Imagine thinking Rihanna is into shady practices for songwriting credits when she openly said in an interview that she's not gonna change anything in a demo for the sake of adding her name in the credits if the song is already perfect as it is :rip: She doesn't care. She has zero writing credits on her best-selling album (GGGB). Up until Unapologetic she'd typically be credited on 4-6 songs out of 12 (except Rated R, 8/13). Then she became more involved in that aspect with Unapologetic and especially Anti and I'm sure that just happened naturally. Note that her credits are usually for the music (melodies, ad libs, harmonies, arrangements) and not for the lyrics.

Artists who fraud songwriting credits slap their name on every song of an album, otherwise there's no point.

Rih has ethics and artistic integrity.

That's part of the reason she's genuinely liked by the public, artists, and collaborators.

I, myself writing songs privately cause that's my hobby. I know this too how hard it is to write a good song. Sometimes it can take a lot of time to put a good song together. You can get a whole new direction, you can get more than two songs out of one. Sometimes a good song is written in only under 5-10 minutes. It is how it flows. But it makes a lot of fun writing songs. So what Rihanna is doing here with the credits is absolutely fine. I would do the same if I would be her. And we know as a fact that Rihanna is always traveling, so her schedule is or must be full of business meetings and we know that she also has a private life. And it's not a bad thing when a singer doesn't write their own songs, sometimes you don't have the time for that. Rihanna is letting her team doing that find the right tracks and what's good in the vein for Rihanna. She gives her vision to her team and they're looking for that. If she has the time she will be involved more in the process. I don't know but that's my guessing here...

She probably could write a whole song if she tried but it wouldn't be as good as the songs she gets from other songwriters. I don't blame her, she has easy access to the best songwriters in the industry. People on here think she just cuts the demos but she always adds something unique to the tracks when she records them, whether she takes part in songwriting or not. A lot of these demos sounded super generic and lifeless, some of them sounded like flops, and she turned them into stellar tracks. That's a talent in itself. :coffee:

Exactly! They criticize her for merely recording demos sent to her, but how come when another singer releases the same demo it flops?!

Her voice is her main strength; it adds something essential to a generic demo, which then becomes super addictive when she lends her voice to it! Few singers have this talent!

Does anyone else want that scrapped album to leak? I know it sounds great. She probably scrapped it because of Hasan. Like she was so confident it would come out in 2019, she literally told us several times!

On another note, i don't believe Rihanna is the type to steal credits and put her name on things that she had no involvement with. That post definitely had bias considering OP being an ORH. At the same time, i hate people who want to push the narrative that Rihanna is a songwriter just because she has co-writing credits on songs. She never claimed to be one so why do you all have to push that narrative?

She never finished the reggae album, so it's not gonna leak (maybe demos or unfinished/raw versions at best). Her and Hassan broke up at the end of that year so it was gonna be delayed to 2020 anyways... I don't think the breakup helped, but the main reason it didn't drop that year is probably because she felt it wasn't perfect.

I'm actually very happy that she scrapped the reggae album.

A few reggae songs would be great, but one of the things I love about her is that she is willing to explore multiple genres. Her versatility is a part of why I stan her.

I feel this too.

None of her albums are one-genre driven. She is know for versatility. And being able to adapt always.

None of her albums sound one note. Not even her mixtapes.

I do need her saving some of those reggae gems for us at least as 'seluxe version songs'
