Idk if this is even a thing but it sounds more Oscar worthy, lyrically the song doesn’t take off but it sounds more cinematic (Can’t wait to see how it’s placed in the film, reviews keep saying that’s what drives it home) Now withholding it from the soundtrack is odd and the only somewhat logical explanation to me is with all the buzz and chart preview they didn’t want to screw up Lift Me Up initial success

Neither are worthy of a 6 year comeback (and y'all gotta stop with the "this aint her comeback narrative" just because it isn't the R9 lead, these are solo songs attached to a huge franchise, come on now), but Born Again is definitely closer to the quality I expect from Rihanna. I still think LMU would have been great if they had only given it a strong chorus. The instrumental was great, it just didn't go anywhere.
