Oh so now all of a sudden the label is capable of forcing her to do things? After we had to suffer through 3+ years of "I control when I release and what my album looks like, if I don't like it then I start over"? :deadbanana2: :deadbanana2: (I don't mean to come at you, just at the ridiculousness of the excuses that will inevitably be pulled for this).

The fact is she's always shown support for him ever since the 5H days, but she was quiet enough about it that it was never really a big deal. But now she's actively participating in his career, and it's pretty clear that it's because she wants to. Gross.

And to think we're supposed to view this as us "getting fed" after MONTHS of silence and disappearances from her? :bibliahh:Truly a joke. This really might be the thing that finally breaks me, at least for now.

Welp, points :rip:

At this point I think it's clear she doesn't care about her fanbase and is just gonna do whatever she wants. I'd understand that if she was more of an established artist but she's really making all the wrong moves right now. To think that she had everyone rooting for her with Motivation... :deadbanana:

I think the reaction to her doing something with Chris is overblown it isn’t 2009. A lot of it seems like fake outrage. I’m mad that she was dumb enough to think anyone would be excited about this. Roll out this damn album, I’m sick!

a little exposure? I mean cmon now. This is making more noise than any of her solo singles did. Half of the black community doesn't even know her

Do you really think people are gonna go search up Normani after seeing her hugging on Chris Brown for a few minutes? If they even do, the only thing they'll find from this year is one single that didn't even get a video :toofunny3:

Sure, she's getting exposure for this but if she's gonna do something controversial, then at least go all the way. Sing a verse. Make the choreography memorable. Agreeing to be his video vixen is not gonna make people suddenly want to listen to Normani :rip:

He’s been a trash human being beyond just 2009

notice how much noise this is making. everyone wants to lash on her like every female rnb artist doesn't have a collab with Chris.

Twitter forgets that Chris is still supported by many in the industry.

Whataboutism is not cute. I don't stan those other female R&B artists so I don't care what they do. I've supported Normani for like a decade, so yeah I'm going to lash her in a way that I don't lash other artists I don't care about when she does something dumb.

I mean I'm sure part of the reaction is performative outrage from people who were already looking for excuses to drag her, but let's also not act like Chris Brown had a single problematic incident in 2009 and then proceeded to be an extremely well behaved celebrity :rip: He joked about Kehlani's suicide attempt as recently as a few years ago, he's constantly making colourist comments, and he's caught up in assault scandals pretty much every other year :deadbanana2: And even if people were still hanging on to the 2009 stuff, domestic abuse is absolutely something that people should be allowed to hold a grudge on. I don't care if Rihanna is friendly with him in public now, nothing will make me forgive someone who does something like that.

I know Chris is trash but I don’t really know of his recent years scandals. I only remember the Rihanna assault and the weird love triangle with Karrueche that ensued. But yes, working with him wasn’t smart and I won’t defend it. Our girl is just not making good decisions her music career looking bleaker by the day. She’s a socialite I fear

I was starting to get hype for Candy Paint and now she's in a Chris Brown video... Doesn't she want to establish herself as an artist? Not only that but Chris Brown is disgusting. She's ruining things for herself and now she's being dragged everywhere, why would she even agree to this? She's moving so dumb, I don't understand.

That's it. Peace Y'all, I'll see you when Candy Paint is released with a video, until then I'm gone lol.

not some of you saying she should announce candy paint now :priceless: that would make her desperate not smart

With WAP, Family Ties, Don’t they and now this…. She’s got more video cameos than solo music. Embarrassing really.

If my career was in the positions hers is, I'd be desperate too.

There is actually also a bunch of positive tweets about them in that video so

This is sad because Jeri actually BEEN THERE since 5H days and I actually remember when Chris Brown dragged Normani, Dinah, Tinashe, Kehlani, and Zendaya and Jeri was defending. Jeri also does radio adds requests, she’s actually a OG. I really wonder how this video came to be considering Normani knows Chris Brown ate her, and her friends up!

With that said, this is making Normani so relevant I’m sorry. Promo is promo. She’s actually trending #1 in the US all of a cameo. Also, Shade Room and all the “urban” blogs are rushing to post the dance scene and every single post is viral with praise in the comments. I never seen nothing like this. IG and Twitter could not be more divided on this. :rip:

and how much of this will translate into streams? :rip:

lbr the only thing she’s going to gain from this is a few more extra IG followers and she will most likely lose them later since she’s not that active so :ducky:

@Heheee Is this the music video your source was talking about ddd. That’d be tragic if so :/

But even on shade room a lot of the comments are just cracks about him being with a dark skin woman. Normani better use this attention and announce her own project instead cause otherwise it’s truly pointless and clown move on her part
