Everytime things go out of her control, she disappears. She really doesn’t like dealing with any of this. Sucks to be in a limbo :gaycat6:

I have noticed this. Normani tends to withdraw instead of fighting to get her music and brand out there. Also, her and Blair definitely had some kind of falling out because she unfollowed him on instagram and only recently refollowed. That’s why she’s had a severe lack of photoshoots posted to Instagram, which she would have normally done to keep activity on socials.

I think her career is in a really weird place and she’s completely oblivious to it because she’s been delaying so long, she just thinks people will wait forever for the album and that’s just not true. Her fanbase has become pretty small on Twitter these days and super toxic.

It’s in her to hide when things don’t go her way. It kinda sucks, but I feel like that’s just how she prefers to deals with things. Also probably because music is not really her priority. If Candy Paint flops, we can all say goodbye to her career. Not because the GP won’t be here for her, but I feel like she’s the one who will likely just give up and move on from this. It’s so weird how we were rumoured to get the album today but unfortunately things got in the way. It’s really that time to just distance from her before we lose it again

“Music is not her priority” how when she’s signing publishing deals, doing radio interviews, and just dropped music in April? Idk I feel like the only people who feel like she’s gonna be done are the ppl who are hyper fixated on her career. We’re all operating under the premise that Normani and team don’t have a plan. But then she releases music and everybody “sees the vision” we have a date set per @WheresJay & @Modus. We know the song has went to dsp’s and we know if there will be a video it it’ll have a good chance of charting well. That was the only complaint from the fair era. “Where’s the mv” so I think we know the things Normani needs to be successful as well as everyone else does and I don’t think this is her last ditch attempt at all. The only thing that can make Normani flop is if this album is literally trash, which we all know can’t happen. But this mindset ppl have had about a “make or break” is probably why she released fair and puts so much pressure on herself. She wanted to finally do something that didn’t feel like the entire world had to stop and she got to express herself musically like she never had. Idk I think our fandom contributes to her ways as much as if not more than the gp.

W4U could’ve been a part of the album she didn’t want to put out or maybe recorded during that time.

Beyoncé hasn't had a real hit single since 2014. She is not a threat to ******* CANDY PAINT :rip:

The same Beyoncé who doesn't promote, send her songs to radio or give a damn about anything related to her releases besides letting the "Music speak for itself".

Normani's delay is likely due to the lack of video.. which makes no sense as we've all stated is unacceptable considering they knew it was going to be pushed since probably January.

What new artist trying to have a successful career is releasing one song a year? Just look at other artists that actually tease new music, promote, perform, etc. If music was really her priority, we would have more songs (at the VERY least, snippets) by now.

And let's not forget that Normani was supposed to have 3 different songs out on radio by May and the only one we got was Fair, which barely went top 40 on one format :dies: It's very obvious something is going on but she most likely doesn't care. She's rich and can get an invite to any event/party she wants to go to. If I were her, I wouldn't be thinking about an album either.

Other artists have stepped up for the summer it seems, I’ll take candy paint in July but with the backdrop of all the delays and issues I feel like the debut is doomed. I just don’t think people are gonna be like oh ya, it was worth all the mess.

MTE. I feel like it'll be a bit anticlimactic. Hope I'm wrong...if this album ever actually gets released..which I'm not even confident about

This is obviously old but it’s weird how she mentions Candy Paint as if it was just a promo single.

all this stuff she recorded in April that they randomly put out this month. I guess things actually were supposed to be happening by now but more delays happened of course

Omg you made it click for me. I guess Candy Paint really was coming May.

I feel vindicated! I’m not crazy, I definitely swore up and down (in the Fair thread) that Candy Paint was coming May. I was so sure, I saw so many signs that things were in-line. I really wonder what caused this delay (outside MAYBE the publishing deal situation).

Yeah I don’t know what happened but the delay was a terrible mistake. Even with Fair flopping keeping things moving with Candy Paint in May and album preorder/release in the summer would go much better than whatever disaster is coming next. I’ll admit rca could be the reason for this final blow though

I’m hoping the tea on this situation surfaces. Normani does deserve better because I don’t see no label sitting on Candy Paint and being like “let’s delay this uptempo BOP single out of summer”. They would at least give her a summer single moment.

Why would her team allow this to be aired?

I think this time it’s RCA’s fault. I know we keep coming back to it but I can’t believe she wasted a release slot on Fair, I can’t make any excuses after that

Oh this made me smile hard! Love that Toni sees her and hears the influences. Normani girl you’ve got legends in your corner!

Who cares about double ending profits if the song didn’t make any?

I wonder what she filmed earlier this week? It looked she was being interviewed? Now that it’s pretty much confirmed that the SiriusXM interview was (probably) recorded during her April NYC press run.
