Non factor and Completely different markets in my opinion. Normani is Pop/R&B while Coco is R&B/Soul. Plus, even if they were in the same lane, it shouldn’t matter, in fact I would encourage collaborations if I were managing them both. See Scooter with Ariana and Justin for example. 3

I agree that managing both Normani and Coco won't be a problem but they're definitely in the same market. There's no reason both can't succeed though 2
harmonizeme89 Posted August 7, 2023 Posted August 7, 2023 I hope this means she’s actually coming soon. It’s crazy how it’s been almost a year and a half since Fair came out.
popularmoonlight Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 Joya's tweet lol. She retweeted the management article right after.
hiimalec Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 i have prayed for this!!! yes!! now release the music mama!!
Cbreezy Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 (edited) Wow. Excited for our girl, but feeling all the feels (good and otherwise). I guess the easiest way to sum it up is that while this is all really cool and hopefully means her train is finally moving again, it literally confirms in the most direct way possible that her situation had been dire behind the scenes. Probably worse and more complicated than we even thought. I always saw her situation as being label drama (and it may still be), but it's very telling that she switched management after claiming at some point that management wasn't the issue. I get the sense that she was loyal to Brandon and S10. They basically came up together, but I always got the impression that Brandon was more ambition than ability. Not looped into his background, but I get young, hot shot managerial hopeful who randomly got in good with Roc Nation and had the foundation to build something big. But when it came to actually executing...at least for Normani...he was ill-equipped. Both from a getting ish done standpoint and his networking book. I still shudder at the fact she had to effectively be fan-demanded for the VMAs rather than booking it on her own accord (with a Cardi feature and a show lineup filled with acts that couldn't lace her shoe). Then there's the laundry list of mishaps...from small to big...across Normani's everything. It all gave rookie team and I can envision a scenario where she'd give him more grace because she could see he was "trying his best". But it seems the May realization was that sometimes one's best just isn't good enough. He did good things with Anitta, but she came with a bigger established profile and a viral hit that arguably made her opportunities more automated than anything he specifically was doing. I'd call this conjecture if she didn't leave herself. That was very telling. Mani doesn't get a total pass, because I sense she made a few dizzy decisions herself and it's my personal stance that she takes herself way too seriously, isn't social media savvy, and is reaching for that Beyonce/Rihanna type of mysterious, pop-up-when-it's-important positioning that she hasn't yet earned. All this said, I'm happy for her. The two managers from different companies' setup is unique and smart IMO. This feels like a TEAM, a two-headed machine The Lydia/Coco Jones connection IS an eyebrow-raiser (because they are in the same lane and will be fighting for the same spots), but I actually think it's Coco who might need to worry. People clown Normani all the time, but IMO her name is a) more known, b) she courts a younger, hipper audience, so is more brandable IMO, and c) she carries more of an established premium at this stage of their careers. Hopefully, they can both co-exist and slay. Edited August 8, 2023 by Cbreezy 7

I honestly find it kind of odd the way this fanbase bounces seemingly at random between overhyping Normani's star power and underhyping it Coco has literally had one Hot 100 chart entry in her entire career so far and it was at #62. Even with Normani's constant breaks, she's undoubtedly bigger commercially than Coco is (at least as of today). If their management is going to give one of them undue preference for coveted spots (and I'm not saying they will), it's much likelier they would give it to Normani as a somewhat established hitmaker than give it to someone who hasn't proven they can get any sort of hit with their name attached. None of this is meant to shade Coco (so please nobody turn this into a stan war ), but it's just not realistic that this management group would sign Normani only to immediately shaft her in favour of another artist who's an even riskier investment than Normani is. 5

popularmoonlight Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 I know they really got nothing to do with each other but Anitta announced she was parting ways with Brandon and exactly a week later annouced her next single. Really hope something from Normani is imminent too.
sleepevaded Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 Lydia is a great manager (started following her cus of Doja ages ago) and the sweetest. This decision will be great for Mani in the long run! Let’s hope we get right into the music soon. 1

Motivation93 Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 @WheresJay thank you for always informing us when necessary king. Can we expect the candy paint announcement within a month or so? So happy things are actually moving
armani Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 We finally reaping the benefits of waiting patiently it’s finally here not just fake insiders or a figment The Drought Is Over I have a feeling this is going to her biggest era ever S10 was truly holding her back 2
Flare Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 Her new managers are both the ones involved with Lizzo and Doja’s takeovers separately. Like the eras they smashed in, none of their flop stuff. Also, I cannot speak anymore highly of Lydia so I’ll let these random tweets do it And my personal fave (because Lydia will encourage Normani to engage fans more) 1

wildsidenormani Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 we're almost through to the other side girlies there is light at the end of the tunnel god really gives his toughest battles to his toughest warriors, just hang on a little longer my fellow sisters in battle 3 1
AFullMoonlight Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 Somebody needs to tell Mani to get a discord. She doesn’t have to be on twitter.

It was clear that some mess was going on bts. Next move is to move Record Labels in my eyes she’s one of the few who still has the potential to be in the big leagues with TS, Ari, Rihanna and all the huge pop girls like back in the day but she’s a needs a more powerful label she need to start manifesting that 2

brraap Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 She should’ve never signed with tunji, brandon & that odd s10 label. Instead she should’ve gone with an established manager and a label that could support her growth. Happy she’s finally out We ready 1
wildsidenormani Posted August 8, 2023 Posted August 8, 2023 (edited) https://www.billboard.com/pro/normani-signs-new-managers/ Quote On Monday (Aug. 7), Brandon Creed and Lydia Asrat signed the singer to a co-management deal through Creed's newly-launched Good World Management and Asrat's Q10. The deal comes months after she and former manager Brandon Silverstein amicably parted ways in May. So she only signed with them yesterday(?). I guess it's still gonna be a while girlies... I doubt they'd run the story that quick on Rolling Stone and have Candy Paint registered all with the ink still wet. Not impossible, but doubtful. 2 1
