I'm strating to get jealous of Ariana's Wicked.....

Universal has been heavy-promoting it since February, and it looks like it could have the critical and box office success, that we had wished for JFAD.

If I remember correctly there was a report earlier this year that they're doing Barbie level advertising. They're supposed to have toys and dolls associated with the movie for a big push around xmas time.

How was Dance Monkey #1 for...120 days?

I think DWAS will probably enter top 10 for sure...but either Christmas freeze or reputation if released this year will probably block it from reaching top 3/top 1

I wonder if the LG7 single will serve to give like 300-500k extra streams to Die With A Smile for a couple weeks...I need it to reach #1. Although even with radio on full support that's unlikely since she's #4 on AM

Idk, and Dance Monkey's recurrent streams are horrible for a song that was that massive in the streaming era. I think it's the only song in the top 12 of most-streamed songs of all time doing less than 1 million a day (500k-600k range).

If DWAS can hold on at the top spot for the rest of the month (assuming Rep TV doesn't come out this month or nothing else starts blowing up out of nowhere) then DWAS would be at 67 days. If it could hold on for all of November before the Christmas freeze, then that would put it at 97 days, putting it at #6 on the all-time list and #1 for the decade list. That's the best case scenario imo. Though if it could squeak out 100 days, that would really be amazing (for that to happen, it would have to notch up some days in January though).

Wait, I just realised we are nearing mid October...my mind was adding an extra month to my calculations

P.S.: DWAS will definitely get the Valentine's Day + GRAMMYs boost + LG7's release boost in January and February...doubt it will be #1 but I can easily see it still in the top 10 by then...

there's absolutely no need to feel jealous over something like this because JFAD would still be the same horrible movie with or without promotion

I definitely think it'll stick around near the top of the Spotify charts for a long time. The fact that it's projected to have 1 billion Spotify streams a little over three months after release is insane. It'll be exciting to see how long it takes it to get to 2 billion as well; Shallow could sure use the company :sistrens:

She's winning again...Somehow she always stays here. I can't stand it.

Using an inverse points system that tracks WW chart data, Talk of the Charts has DWAS at 16 on the 2024 chart and 106 on the 2020s chart. It should have no problem getting into the top 10 of the former chart and top 100 of the latter one; it's exciting to see where it'll end up.

I get that we can't win everytime, and that we have to deal with the panned bomb aka JFAD.

But was it really necessary, to have another singer-turned-actress smashing just 1 month later, with another MUSICAL?

God, the comparisions will be terrible....

still think that if she;s going for a dark dance pop, 10.18 for single 1. Unless things changed a bit due to the movie's reception, and it may come out later in the month.

technically, ariana is an actress turned singer back to actress again. a reverse nickelodeon starlet expedition.

I'm so tired of hearing about JFAD. I'm ready to deep dive into LG7 already and yet we're 10 days into October with no news :gaycat6:
