The movie isn't bad as the world is saying but it's a mid movie. The cinematography and the acting save this movie imo 2 1

Spoiler For example it's very obvious Lee has missing scenes because her character develops very much out of nowhere, and it seems like they value the whole court drama concept way too much when we should've gotten more scene where Arthur is building relationships and discovering the reality behind his "Joker" persona. We don't even really see the mental health aspect of Lee. Why is she truly obsessed with Arthur? We get an interesting backstory which turns out to be a lie, so why not give us a real backstory and connect it. How does Lee react to Arthur's death? Etc. so many things that are left unanswered and unresolved. 7 2

Jack! Posted October 4 Posted October 4 16 minutes ago, IBeMe said: listening to Joker 2 music and i like it even with Joaquin's HONKING sounds for singing tbh. I hope I can enjoy the movie to some extent. I am still hopeful I will be able to fixate on like the fashion or filming or lighting or something if the story is THAT horrible Yeah my expectations are little to nothing, I just hope it's good. 1

It's sad because there's a good movie hidden somewhere in FaD 3
Glam Posted October 4 Posted October 4 The way we were expecting a TFM-esque moment with JFad and it's turning out to be her Artpop could mean anything movie. JFad is just too ahead of its time. 3
IBeMe Posted October 4 Posted October 4 ultimately this movie will have her biggest opening numbers so more name recognition for her. I say this was a net positive for her career. It's jsut she has to make sure she acts more frequently and in more quality based films after this. Waiting too long after this may be the problem...her jumping onto a new movie or tv series immediatly would actually be the smartest thing she can do. Anyways, her name hasn't been in the GPs minds as much as it is now so its actually a good thing she did this movie. Very little can get an artists name out as much as a movie and its promo so this is good especially since her performnance in the film is praised. Had her performance also been horrible then that would have been a real issue 3

Let's be real. That's not what I'm saying at all love. She has 2 albums out in October for FAD so pushing a third album (the one we actually want) to February because of that makes perfect sense. But of course I don't **** and this could have been the plan all along except for she's been teasing like it was coming out this year.
Hexchromatica Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Now if there were car crashes and Iron Man had shown up out of nowhere saying a catchphrase, that type of film gets more flowers with a blockbuster audience. People are mad they didn't get what they expected from a blockbuster and clearly aren't ready to have difficult discussions about mental health in the blockbuster movie space 2

Bhabylon Posted October 4 Posted October 4 My date to the movie was like "you sighed every single time they sang" the way I wasnt even aware I was doing that 12 1
GagaTomFord Posted October 4 Posted October 4 anyways #1 song in the world (Billboard Global 200), #1 movie in the world DWAS smashing and breaking records left and right with almost guaranteed Grammy noms Gaga acting praise is unanimous. Even with the movie getting torn by certain audiences she did what she need to do with talent and grace
Gerard141 Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Her next movie has to be something so far removed from music IMO. Or the GP are gonna be sick of her. 3

Glam Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Her best two scenes imo (spoilers ahead): 1. When her neighbor on the first movie says in court that the TV film made about Arthur/Joker was quite bad and he looks back at Lee to ask her if it really was bad and she replies "No" with the most heart-warming and loving gesture ever. 2. The haunting last scene when she is at the stairs with her Harley makeup (finally!) and starts singing while Arthur begs her to speak to him and she tells him "all we had was the fantasy and you gave up". That line and delivery alone is brilliant, incredible, amazing, show-stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, etc! 4

The second one is definitely the best scene imo, the apathy really got me laughing. - I just got home from watching it. I think it's an OK film but it definitely felt like a drag in some scenes. My partner enjoyed it whereas my sister ripped it to shreds. Edited October 4 by Kiel D-01
