BlondUnicorn Posted September 28 Posted September 28 One of the most striking tracks on "Harlequin" is this rendition of "The Joker" — no, not the Steve Miller Band song, but a showstopping number from the 1964 musical "The Roar of the Greasepaint — The Smell of the Crowd." (It's been covered by quite a few artists over the years, perhaps most memorably the great Shirley Bassey.) Gaga can of course nail a theatrical tune like this in her sleep, but she brings a fresh energy to "The Joker" by giving it a kind of rock operatic arrangement, complete with electric guitar and a punkish growl in her voice. "Perfect Illusion" apologists, our moment has once again arrived. The NYT acclaiming The Joker https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/27/arts/music/amplifier-newsletter-clown-songs.html 13

hausofbryan Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Pleasantly surprised with that debut. She proved me wrong! Cute 1M+ for Happy Mistake as a buzz single too.

Archetype Posted September 28 Posted September 28 I love that Gaga can just drop jazz projects like this out of love and not give a **** about the fact that no one streams jazz music. Respect 3

Reveal hidden contents Jk, but it may not do as bad as we think Then we wake up Spoiler It has to do at least 600M$ to break even, as right now it seems more on track to do anything between 300 to 450M$ let's hope it finds an audience 1 1

atemyheartinc Posted September 28 Posted September 28 (edited) Most people seems to forget that thanks to jazz and her versatility, Gaga didn't go the Katy's route. Edited September 28 by atemyheartinc 5 2
gab00 Posted September 28 Posted September 28 So 7million was the total? Nice. That's what we expected plus we overdid y'all know who -which was the only draggeable outcome even if HQ is just a covers album- And yasss at DWAS
chromatricon Posted September 28 Posted September 28 The Joker really has the potential to go viral on TikTok with JFAD edits. I also see it being used in the same anime edit as Judas.
