Julio Posted September 11 Posted September 11 3 minutes ago, Sugden said: Based on the data and analysis you've provided, it seems that the performance of Joker: Folie à Deux is struggling compared to expectations. Here's a breakdown: Sales and Growth: The overall sales growth of 11% isn't very strong, especially when paired with new sales of just 5, suggesting a lack of momentum. 2.6 tickets per showtime is a relatively low number, indicating weaker audience turnout. Showtimes and Theatres: Theatres and showtimes aren't expanding rapidly enough to drive higher sales. Comps: It's underperforming when compared to films like Beetlejuice 2, Godzilla vs. Kong, Dune 2, and The Hunger Games: Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. The best comparison so far is Aquaman 2, but even then, the difference is marginal. Format Sales: The fact that it's spreading somewhat evenly across premium formats like Dolby, VIP, and IMAX suggests it isn't generating the kind of buzz that drives a clear preference for higher-priced formats, which can impact overall revenue potential. Sales Windows: While a longer sales window could help boost numbers, the early trends show a lack of traction, which may be hard to reverse without significant marketing or controversy. General Outlook: The concern around the minimal movement from day 1 to day 2 indicates that audiences are not highly engaged. A $60M opening, which had been suggested as a potential floor, seems difficult to reach based on current trends. In summary, while it's not performing disastrously, the numbers indicate that Joker: Folie à Deux is struggling to capture audience attention, and expectations should be tempered unless there's a substantial turnaround in marketing or word of mouth. the fact that months ago we were sure that this film would be huge for gaga and now

Miracle Posted September 11 Posted September 11 I kinda hope it flops...for making Gaga a sidekick. After all Gaga got her $10M and has the biggest duet of the year, a new lead single and an album to promote. You did Gaga dirty Todd Philips and I hope that leaves you bankrupt
Rino Posted September 11 Posted September 11 well lemme log off for a year, hopefully the lashings will die down a bit by then 7
Thin White Duke Posted September 11 Posted September 11 (edited) Also, I really think Gaga needs to look for a more or less indie film project next. Any "smaller" director will be excited to have her and actually use her talents + it will show that she actually has the passions for acting itself. It's a win-win situation. Blockbusters like these can be fun but often fall flat on their face when it comes to quality. It's not like she needs the money either. Edited September 11 by Thin White Duke 1
FruitofUtopia Posted September 11 Posted September 11 Ugh. I'm already over this movie Don't even feel like going anymore

It doesnt come as a shock that this will flop...also it wouldnt have come qs a shock if it was massive success. Todd Philips did a big swing with making it a musical but how are you gonna make it a musical and relegate THE SINGER OF THE XXITH CENTURY to like 40? 50? minutes of real screentime 2
Miracle Posted September 11 Posted September 11 1 minute ago, Rino said: well lemme log off for a year, hopefully the lashings will die down a bit by then no one will curr about this mess of a movie since Gaga is a supporting actress so the flopping can't even be associated with her lol. She got her 10M salary, extra free promo for LG7 and now shes ready to serve us ominous dark electropop 1
Zerocoke Posted September 11 Posted September 11 With the current presales numbers, even getting to a $60M opening in the US will be a struggle. It's tracking behind The Marvels in many theatres and that opened to $46M. Haven't tracked any numbers outside the US but brace yourselfs for an utter bomb domestically. BUT be positive. She IS an ACCLAIMED actress and will get whatever role she wants in the future. She has the NUMBER 1 song in the world right now and we're getting her first pop single in 4 years in a month. She IS the moment. 2 1

It's possible that they wongfully tried to appeal to a demographic which is unmovable in terms of going to see a musical and ended up not catching a new audience. Maybe while its true that the movie was a risk the marketing ended up being too safe. *insert Sarah Jessica Parker on her typewriter gif* Edited September 11 by SweetOreosOfHeaven

I'll still go and watch this movie but for gaga and gaga only. Gag getting the only nominations out of this mess will be final nail in their coffin. ihihihhi 1
Namiskine Posted September 11 Posted September 11 I couldn't care less about JFAD's BO success tbh. At least her chart performance is up to her; that sh*t is up to Toad's

I was more than prepared for an Oscar snub after HoG but this... will be harder to proccess I fear. Honestly, I kinda didn't get a good feeling when all of a sudden LG7's lead is coming right before Xmas freeze, as a brand new film debuts, especially when the album is due months later. On top of that also have this random droplet smashing that was created recently? It's giving 'quick, lemme cushion the blow' teas. I just hope that's wrong but I go by 'actions speak louder than words' I Edited September 11 by Mr. Stratus 2

kwek_kwek Posted September 11 Posted September 11 Warner Bros will shift their focus to Dune 2 this coming awards season if JFAD bombs.

His super ego was too much and it affected Todd's decisions. Miss gar you better stat away from white heterosexual pigs next time.
