Bhumisah Posted September 10 Posted September 10 Well babylonhooker just posted that LG7 MV Shot in iPhone16 1 1 3
Bhumisah Posted September 10 Posted September 10 so 2 weeks ago a source from Apple told me there are two artists have their MV shot on Iphone 16. they didn't say who exactly. now it's The Weeknd and I just got another tea that Gaga also has an MV deal with Apple, the two songs that are rumored are A and SH The Iphone shot MV might be the lead or the second single
Canonical Ensembl Posted September 10 Posted September 10 The idea of iPhone-shot MV kinda excites me this time knowing Ratchy is not around. 1

IAmJustAKnee Posted September 10 Posted September 10 (edited) Sorry if wrong base but I need help, does anyone have the photo of Avril Lavigne's head being photoshopped onto I think a skateboard/scooter as a parody of the BTW album cover? I'm also trying to find a bunch of the memes/parodies in general of BTW'S cover art (from 2011) for a project but I could only find this article: https://www.gawkerarchives.com/5792786/the-best-parodies-of-lady-gagas-new-album-cover Edited September 10 by IAmJustAKnee 3

Sannie Posted September 10 Posted September 10 If The Weeknd's video is good, it'll prove iPhone videos can be good if they're done by the right people. 5
EnigmaticAndroid Posted September 10 Posted September 10 Imo, the cinematography itself for the Stupid Love vid is perfectly fine and it being shot on 70mm Imax wouldn't have saved the cheap costumes and dolly dinkle choreography. It was the fArtists using the equipment I fear. 2
FameIsForever Posted September 10 Posted September 10 Why does it feel like she's over JFAD? Literal silence since the premiere. Don't know what promo she has lined up for this but usually with her past movie roles it's nonstop promo after the premiere. This time it feels more like a one and done thing. 3 1
Popular Post Pop Art Posted September 10 Popular Post Posted September 10 A preemptive warning: this post ended up being far longer than I intended it to be. 😅 I just find this phenomena interesting and it directly correlates with Die With a Smile, so I thought I would share. __________ Die With a Smile's performance on the charts is a true testament to why being global is so advantageous. The song is performing like a normal hit in the Anglosphere (and even underperforming in some other Western countries), yet that's more than made up for with the absolute smashery in other parts of the world, namely SEA. This also showcases how much charting power and importance has shifted over the past decade and why it's important to take note of these changes. Just a few years ago even, countries like the US, Japan, the UK, Germany, France, Australia, Canada, and the like were seen as THE places you needed to do well in to be considered a global success, which made sense because we didn't really have the level of WW numbers we do now and these countries were (and roughly still are) the biggest music markets in the world in terms of monetary value. It's of course still very notable to do well in these countries, but since charts are (mostly) based on units and not revenue and as more and more consumers from different countries enter the streaming market, different countries have stepped up as more influential to a song's success than others as more public data has become available (namely Spotify's detailed country charts and Billboard's Global 200). For example, let's look at the biggest music markets from 2023 and the amount of streams the #1 song on Spotify in each did yesterday. 1. US: 2.1M 2. Japan: 366K 3. UK: 566K 4. Germany: 776K 5. China: N/A 6. France: 500K 7. South Korea: 257K 8. Canada: 284K 9. Brazil: 1.5M 10. Australia: 394K Now let's look at the markets that are the biggest streamers on Spotify (per the #1 in each country). 1. US: 2.1M 2. Indonesia: 2.1M 3. Brazil: 1.5M 4. Mexico: 1.4M 5. Phillipines: 1.3M 6. India: 1.1M 7. Germany: 776K 8. Thailand: 732K 9. Spain: 650K 10. Turkey: 636K Quite a different list, isn't it? Now let's look at these same lists but showing where Die With a Smile is charting and with how many streams in each country yesterday. 1. US: #2 (1.8M) 2. Japan: #89 (71K) 3. UK: #6 (325K) 4. Germany: #33 (152K) 5. China: N/A 6. France: #29 (159K) 7. South Korea: #15 (21K) 8. Canada: #3 (236K) 9. Brazil: #21 (532K) 10. Australia: #3 (286K) 1. US: #2 (1.8M) 2. Indonesia: #2 (1.9M) 3. Brazil: #21 (532K) 4. Mexico: #41 (462K) 5. Phillipines: #2 (1.2M) 6. India: N/A 7. Germany: #33 (152K) 8. Thailand: #9 (172K) 9. Spain: #59 (95K) 10. Turkey: N/A As you can see, the song is performing "just" well when we look at the markets traditionally seen as being integral to global success, but when we look at the markets that are actually most important to streaming units moved in 2024, it's doing wonders comparatively. This explains its exceptional global numbers — since markets like Brazil and Mexico overall pull significant streams nowadays, Die With a Smile even just doing moderately well there puts it in the same category as a song doing exceptionally well in traditionally "bigger" markets like Germany and France. To reiterate, this is really all to say that it's impressive how well the song is doing overall even if its performance in what are normally target countries like the UK, Germany, France, and the like is mid or even arguably at an underperforming level. I've seen people say for years that the power of SEA streams isn't something to underestimate, and now we're seeing that firsthand. Hopefully it can remain stable there and simultaneously grow in these other markets that it has yet to hit with at that same level. 23 3

hausofbryan Posted September 10 Posted September 10 To be fair, Gaga has always done minimal movie promotion on her own socials. It's something I noticed with HoG. She seems to defer to the studio accounts (unlike with her music.) The interviews she recorded in Venice will begin trickling out and it'll feel more "normal" I think. Granted, not sure when she's attending another premiere? 2
nokiki Posted September 10 Posted September 10 Maybe she'll concentrate on the waltz she wrote for JFAD when talking about it. She seems proud of it and that's the part of the film that's really "hers".

When she announced it with the cover there will be more hype In this day and age, it's better to announce within the week that you're releasing. Announcing a title/teasing snippets weeks in advance doesn't work anymore. Hopefully they see that with DWAS and repeat that strategy. 1
