so the pre sales for joker so far seem like really bad like "the marvels" and "the flash" levels of bad i cant f believe

apparently its doing better than beetlejuice day 1 so far and that movie opened with 100M

They're comparing this film to frontloaded superhero films like Marvel and Flash etc just because there are two DC characters in them. People know this film is a serious character film, not action superhero flicks, people won't be rushing to buy tickets the first hours/day like Marvel/DC fans do.

Katy's new singles only really charted in airplay charts because of payola. Imagine if Gaga had payola on top of the streams, it would be number 1

because most people don't need to preorder tickets unless they live in a major metropolitan area like LA or NYC where the screenings are already completely packed and cost $30 per ticket

people have meltdowns over the most random **** in here. like you said beetlejuice did great OW. presales aren't indicative of much of anything for a film unless it has heavy spoiler culture associated with it. there's no hidden easter eggs or multiverse with joker its a cut and dry musical/drama.

I hope you are right

I admit I know jacksh-t about these sort of predictions, but since they come from a box office forum I assumed the members there are well-versed in these topics

This is how every showing I've looked at in LA for Imax has been for Monday, Thursday and Friday

Like everything there are fandoms there, and people with biased opinions could twist anything into their narrative.

Same with NYC, I had to get the 11:00PM screening tickets to get decent seats because everything else was pretty much gone.

The way I'm not even bothered to see JFAD on its premiere. Don't think I ever will be bothered by another movie until she works with a director that actually values her :bird:

People are unsure about this movie because it is so weird and unusual and even now the plot is not really clear. They are not going to rush out and pre-buy tickets. This one needs good word of mouth for that.

Don't care much about box office. The reviews (not how bad or good they are, but the ones who provide information on how little Gaga is on) almost made me think about not watching it at the cinema but I will cause even if she only has like 40 minutes of real screentime its still Gaga singing

I'm a gey lady gaga fan and a huge fan of Joker. I remember buying tickets for my 3 other friends just so we can help Joker 1 hit the 1B mark lmao. And even as a gay lady gaga fan, I was also disappointed when I found out that Joker 2 is a musical. Because let's be honest, most musical films are shits. I'm not talking about ASIB-type musical, but those musical films where the characters just out-of-nowhere sings a random corny ass song with cringe stage production, which I imagine this movie is going to be. I won't be surprised if most fans of the first movie, who are mostly straight homphobes, felt disappointed too and won't be watching the movie because of the musical aspect of it. A year later, I'm still wondering wtf were thinking turning the beloved Joker movie into a musical. Ugggh. god musical films really are the worst, but I'm still watching this because of Gaga. LFG!

And this is not all of Countries in the World considering DWAS did 71M Spotify and 30M Youtube (MV, Audio, YT Music, etc)

I lost almost all my hype for Folie à Deux tbh. They deleted some scenes that looked incredible and Gaga is not even lead...

Already lost my hype when they dropped the trailer with less Gaga scenes and supporting vibes/rumos swirling around

Was hoping for the box office to SMASH but alas

Still hoping for the GP to cone through

Is it time to sell off the movie rights to TLC? They could play it between reruns of My 600lb Life.

At this point they might as well sell it to Tubi

I'm going to watch it on premiere day with my friends. It's still new gaga content and should still be a good time since almost all reviews said her scenes were the best.
