a feature on a contemporary jazz artist's song would actually be a great way to dip her toe in but we know she's allergic to being on other people's songs so

This just reminded me she probably hasn't spoken a word to none of the people involved in Dawn of Chromatica :deadbanana2:

Her jazz music has yet to recieve any real attention from jazz world.

this is true. and don't want to spin this into a different debate because personally, I'm at work and not interested in duking it out rn, but although she's respected by the community for reintroducing the genre to a new generation that probably would've never checked out jazz in the first place, she's not exactly viewed as a trailblazer for the genre.

it's actually one of the reasons why i want her to do a solo jazz project at some point with original material :gaycat: lowkey, joanne could've been that record had she and mark decided to go in that direction but i digress. i'd love for her to do something more contemporary, and, if she's into it, really usher in a new era for jazz.

I was thinking this too, the way now would be a perfect time for another Charli collab with Brat blowing up but it'll prob never happen after this

Doing that is a but difficult and rare. In the past 25 years, only Norah Jones and Amy Winehouse managed to really change the game. Laufey too but in a much smaller scale.

And this is the craziest part: people accuse me of being "an only dark bops basic gay stan," but that's simply not true. I would love to hear her take on jazz music; it could be really interesting.

Gaga is the only pop artist I follow this closely, and my music tastes are definitely not pop-adjacent. :rip:

The worst thing about this debate is we have no idea what Gaga is doing at the Olympics, but we know for sure getting a darkGa horror inspired album with a 5 sec snippet that sounded amazing and the annoying users (won't name names but they love the year 96) seem to forget.

"I worked a lot on the way that I sang to come from Lee, and to not come from me as a performer," she says.

OMG no it's already starting :skull: Getting ready for the imminent 3.0 version of "100 people in the room" / "the flies"......

I think Gaga has a unique perspective though that could set her sound apart from previous efforts. Her theatricality, appreciation (and knowledge!!! that's crucial for forward-thinking music - you need to understand other sounds beyond your craft) for other genres like pop, rock, dance, etc. could help craft a fairly unique sound in jazz.

My main point is that jazz is more than just the songbook and standards. There are just as many jazz-subgenres and sounds as there are in pop, for example.

I totally agree. She is totay capable of it but she hasnt made her own jazz record yet. I would die to listen to it because I love Jazz so much.

Given the song(s) she'll be doing, I actually don't expect much of a difference in streams in the days following tomorrow nn. I'll welcome an increase of course but it's not something I'm really thinking about.
