hausofdave Posted February 20 Posted February 20 People unplaying Applause's radio run just b/c it didn't hit #1/Top 5 , the fact it held its own against giants like BL, WCS, WB, Roar, Radioactive's airplay is impressive enough. and lbr any of her singles post would've killed for its radio run, adjusted AI in respective times, there's a reason why none of singles post, bar Shallow, have hit 20+ weeks on charts

It still doesn’t make Applause’s run any better.

I already said I'd only post as a fan from now on so good luck with that "cancelling" you speak of. That’s fair, who could blame you However comma - I would be interested to know, without u going into detail, if you’ve heard anything else at all, whether positive or negative blink twice for yes! Spoiler we are beyond the trenches at this point ladies
CoolNebraskaGuy Posted February 20 Posted February 20 There's a lot of Joanne slander going on tonight. Y'all must be really chafing with the wait.
CoolNebraskaGuy Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Also Applause is a great single. It was the little engine that could in the Chaos that was ARTPOP's rollout. Just 'cause y'all are butthurt about LG7 taking a while doesn't mean we need to drag half her discography 4
Devin Posted February 20 Posted February 20 interscope picked good lead singles til Joanne. DH and Babylon made better leads imo but idk mb they saw something we didnt.

Idk the no name who is influencing the leads now.

OreGuy Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Since Joanne was her rebrand/tone-down era, she could've gone with Million Reasons. Idk why y'all picking other songs. MR and then something upbeat as the 2nd single. PI could even work as a single down the line when fans grew to like it. I feel like PI is frowned upon mainly bc it was a lead single.

PI was more pop rock which the album wasn't. 4
Happylittlepunk Posted February 20 Posted February 20 (edited) Millions reasons or angel down would’ve been perfect as a lead singles imo for Joan album. The more I listen to the album the more I believe Joan should’ve just been a ballad album. Gaga wanted people too see her stripped down and show off her natural talent with no gimmicks or avante garde costumes. I think Gaga doing a pop ballad album would’ve been a better choice and squeeze in some low tempo or mid tempo chill songs too show that side of her. The whole country aesthetic she was rockin during Joan era always felt very outta place and unauthentic which is why I believe Joan is Gaga most forgotten album among the gp. But the gp praises her natural talent as a performer and vocalist. Which is why Joan should’ve been something like Amy whinehouse back to black, or Adele 21/25. EnigmaticAndroid Posted February 20 Posted February 20 While a risk, I'll always maintain that MR should've been the Joanne lead. There was no surefire pop smash on the album. MR would've established the image/sound pivot in a more pronounced way. And obviously the song clicked with the GP after the promo. 3
GraceRandolph Posted February 20 Posted February 20 So if no announcement/single/album comes by March can we get on board with 2025 and just focus on Folie a Deux?
frankvert Posted February 20 Posted February 20 I think MR would’ve been too jarring as the lead, would’ve turned ppl off. Part of MR’s success came from its endearing, eventual rise as the GP caught on post-SB. DH would’ve been a great choice however 1
GraceRandolph Posted February 20 Posted February 20 What do you guys think is the most underrated song on every album? The Fame: Boys Boys Boys The Fame Monster: Teeth Born This Way: Fashion of His Love ARTPOP: Fashion! Joanne: Joanne Chromatica: Plastic Doll 1
