Now this is one thing I like about the film industry. We get to know release dates literal years in advance (for big studio releases anyway). There’s always official announcements about release dates, additions to the cast and crew on THR, Variety etc. Our expectations are adjusted, we know when filming is taking place, we know when promo will start etc.

 

In the music industry it’s always a guessing game, things are either surprise released or announced on short notice. I really think musicians should be held to more strict deadlines, but instead they’re just free to release stuff when they feel like it.

Been lurking for a long time, probably will not comment a lot unless she releases soon which is not likely (prove me wrong Gár)

 

My hot takes 

1.) TF is so underrated, it is one of her most cohesive works and is a blueprint on how catchy earworms with fun lyrics should be written, she really was in her bag and hungry for success

2.) BTW is her best album of course 

3.) This here (both song and performance) is a career highlight especially the 2nd verse and the 2nd prechours with the added synths (that she took out from the album version )

4.) Joanne second half is the worst thing to happen in music history

5.) Chromatica is a well produced album but imo overall too safe sounding for her standards (Replay is still top 10 in her discog)

6.) I want LG7 to have this sound, like imagine this opening guitar riff going off in a ****** stadium with her serving on stage spasming to some Ratchy choreo

 

 

 

The AI version eats too although the riff should be way more agressive and loud like in the 2015 "leak", she really should buy this song from that random band

Sad about The Lady and the Legend or whatever it is called, but she never even announced it so I am not going to get mad at her. From my understanding, it is all in Tony's estate's hands. I would imagine they are still grieving so I am fine with it.

With today's Spotify update, Shallow has now surpassed 300 million streams accumulated in the year 2023. This is quite an increase from last year (283 million) and will be decently close to 2021's total (331 million) when the year ends (I have it ending with 319-320 million). 

 

Poker Face surpassed 1,100,000,000 streams with today's update as well. I still have it ending the year with around 286-287 million streams accumulated in 2023 (it's at 269.5 million so far).

 

Just Dance and ARUTW have pretty similar totals for 2023 so far (237.4 for JD and 239.5 for ARUTW). I have them ending at 252-253 million and 254-255 million respectively.
