I wonder if that "awarded enough" logic by the voters is why Beyonce has also gotten shafted from AOTY. (And if so, they need to answer why they had no problem giving Taylor three of them. ) Also, Love for Sale breaking precedent by winning that engineering precursor to AOTY but not actually getting AOTY was tragic given that in the same year she broke a separate precedent with her Gucci snub. A drastic 180° from the possibility of her winning BA and AOTY over the span of a week 2
Aden Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 Grammy Wins by Category Pop: 6 Soundtrack: 3 Dance: 2 Jazz: 2 TOTAL: 13 Gaga's slate of Grammy wins is so diverse, especially when one of the pop wins is Shallow and another is Joanne (WDYTYG). And Sweet Sounds of Heaven winning will add rock to her slate
Almodusa Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 Tony introducing her for her Halftime show & recent Grammy performance

(And if so, they need to answer why they had no problem giving Taylor three of them. ) I definitely think that is an even bigger issue for Beyoncé as well having so many, especially because giving how many R&B-Urban categories there are where she basically has no competition, voters know they can awarded her on those, just see how they even accepted her in the dance category when for years pop girls were banned from that category. 5 minutes ago, Aden said: Also, Love for Sale breaking precedent by winning that engineering precursor to AOTY but not actually getting AOTY was tragic given that in the same year she broke a separate precedent with her Gucci snub. Last year was truly a nightmare, especially because it started like a dream initially, like it would have been lot less hurtful if she didn't get nominated at all. 1

Leptine Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 I've been wondering since days if your nickname is a tribute to this classic: @eleganceislearned
GraceRandolph Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 The Grammys will probably give Gaga AOTY in like 20 years for some random album that might not even be her best. 2 1
Hurem Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 Her last three pop albums missed on the AOTY nomination, which sucks after the 1-2-3 punch of The Fame - The Fame Monster - Born This Way

perfillusion Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 if Monsters could just accept the fact that her time as a culturally relevant popstar ended long ago, they'd be a lot happier. They also need to accept that while her team does suck, the main problem is her. From the way she sings to her lyrics and producers, she either doesn't know how to be a successful popstar or she doesn't care. The other factor is PR - basically nowadays for an older popstar to cut through the noise, you need to date or be married or breakup from someone famous. Anyone who's had an ounce of success or made headlines used that this past year. 2 2 9

Summer Boy Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 Even Ariana is releasing why can't Gaga do something for once 1
FailSafe Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 Maybe Gags should would with Dr Luke (of course under a pseudonym) 1
Aden Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 Saw a comment on a popular TikTok saying that Gaga is gonna be a Betty White-esque beloved icon in her 90s. It was a compliment but we're never escaping the hag allegations. 3
FailSafe Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 You are not allowed to have sex, masturbate or even search for "materials" on the internet for 3 months but Gaga will surprise drop her pop album with visuals (bunch of mvs, photoshoots etc). Will you accept the challenge?

Infernal Paradise Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 Not saying this in a setting-myself-up-for-disappointment kinda way, but IF there are in fact a couple original songs on FàD, I genuinely feel that at least not sales-wise but quality-wise, she will deliver great material that can go toe to toe with the ASIB pantheon of instant classics. Gaga is at her absolute best when she's laser-focused and knows exactly what she wants and how to get it done. Really hoping she brought the same creative energy and vision and execution to FàD as well. 3
Veckatimest Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 (edited) I also think that Chromatica could have gotten into all General Field categories if not for the panel, for the past few years nearly all of the nominees in Best Pop Vocal Album tended to make Album of the Year as it's by far the biggest voting bloc, and there's an argument to be made that she was Top 3 in the BPVA category given her track record in Pop and ROM's win I was personally less surprised at ASIB being snubbed by the panel as opposed to Chromatica, it was over a year old and was competing against albums that peaked way later in the eligibility period. The Grammys tend to have this complex where Gaga overperforms in nominations one year and yet underperforms in wins in the same year, and then for her next era they snub her because they think they gave her too much before I kinda predicted that would be the case with ASIB, they probably viewed Shallow as her "chance" to clean up and didn't feel the need to give her another opportunity. It's kind of a slap in the face after so many people skated by with a bunch of nominations for eras that underperformed just because of their name after the panels were dropped (i.e., Bieber, Lizzo, etc) Toucanne and Chartdrop didn't have a chance in hell regardless of the panel, but I always felt that Million Reasons had a feasible chance at ROTY and SOTY and was kind of disappointed when that fell through as well Edited December 8, 2023 by Veckatimest 2
