This will probably forever be her best tour opening and I'm completely okay with that.

 

I do feel that a big part of its appeal over the rest of her openers is admittedly rooted in the time period it happened though — The Monster Ball was the perfect crossover of the first time many people were seeing her live and the period where she was the biggest/most famous artist on the planet, and the way its intro was made really capitalizes on the hype most concert goers would have had at seeing this mysterious and "weird" but ubiquitous and inescapable individual in person for the first time. I'd like to think they had something like that in mind when creating it.

Hannah Liden (photographer of the original Fame Kills photoshoot) said they shot interludes and everything the day after the VMAs 2009 performance. Despite the Taylor Swift controversy, Gaga and Kanye were going to go ahead and tour together anyway.
