Both suffered from messy artistic choices (production wise mostly) that made the execution fall flat. Joanne should have fully went for the stripped back route as initially planned without trying to "modernize" the album, and Chrome needed to dive deeper into the 90s/early 00s house influences from the early stages instead of adding those EDM moments that cheapened the entire record. Please, her mother being a secretary of an executive producer and providing them an agent don't make him and his brother nepo-babies, getting an agent it's how it has always worked on Hollywood if you want to work there.
