Mediatraffic's United World Chart updated again. Die with a Smile gained 476,000 points this week (+13k from last week's gain). The song now has over 9,105,000 points, surpassing both Shallow and Bad Romance to become Gaga's 2nd highest song on the all-time chart:

I genuinely never thought she'd have another Shallow moment, at best an ARUTW sized hit. And now it's on track to surpass PF even and become her biggest hit   (at least charts wise, you can debate culturally but we live in different times)

 

And we're still very much in the thick of it, the song is only 5 months old, still getting new weekly peaks and racking up units. We wouldn't be able to fully grasp just how huge it is and has become until the tail end of its chart run. 

 

Love how just when everyone starts to count her out, including her own fans, she sweeps in and bags a smash for the ages.

gaga did the best she could imo. the idea of starring as the main role in the sequel to one of the most popular films of the last decade was an amazing opportunity and everyone was so sure she would fit perfectly in the film. it's not her fault todd decided to purposefully sabotage the first film's legacy lol

I've said it before, but going back into 2013 and telling any Liddo about Shallow/ASIB/ARUTW and they would find it absolutely mind-boggling. Now telling any 2019 Liddo that Gaga goes on to get another Shallow in the mid 2020s except it's way bigger and it would be just as unbelievable. Just Dance, Poker Face, and Bad Romance were seen as her trinity of biggest hits for the longest time. Now it's Poker Face, Shallow, and DWAS. Two thirds of her biggest hits come from after her career passed the 10 year mark. She's in contention for a year-end #1 in 2025. She tied a Janet/Michael record in 2025. DWAS is shaping up to be one of the biggest hits of the decade. It's so fun to experience in real time
