This is sadly true. Although Disease did get really good reviews so if she can turn the campaign around who knows… she just needs some good stuff planned to get people on side again.

I love how OGH love to frame HoG as a flop. It was launched during the pandemic and managed to get the best opening weekend for a non IP movie since Little Women (a year before COVID so 2019). Movie was profitable and did as good domestic as international. Domestic BO, only 3 movies were not franchise and ahead (including 2 Disney, Encanto and Raya, and Free Guy).

We don't even have a proper album title or pre-orders yet but even with Disease underperforming, the vibe of this already ha already felt 1000x better than the Chromatica era. Granted, covid impacted Chromatica but... still.

 

Disease is just soooo delicious and good. I just know this album is going to serve.

Disease was a good step. It made her CORE fanbase and the ones that left the fanbase excited and satisfied which is far more important than getting the GP in terms of album longevity. If she keeps doing this with the second and third single she'll win back more fans and get the ones already there hyped for the album even more which will result in a decent opening and longevity if the album is good. And a potential hit single will bring in the GP for the opening week so her numbers could benefit from it. I still think whether she scores a hit or not the longevity is totally dependent on the Liddos' satisfaction and Gaga's next steps in this era. 

 

What she does score big in, however, is that most of her steps musically these last couple of years has helped her secure a large audience for her concerts. She can do stadiums now because of projects like Love For Sale and Harlequin, because of ASIB, because of DWAS and because of Disease and even its recent performances. She will also be doing stadiums because she's had HOG and even JFAD. So her brand reached new heights because of this and her acclaim as an artist and vocalist has gotten bigger. It's essentially what Beyoncé did with self-titled and Lemonade. It's not only about sales but about the opinion of your brand and I think Gaga's is slowly transitioning to the Beyoncé-Taylor status where at least her tours will be super successful. And by super successful I mean Top 10 highest-grossing kinda tours.

Getting more excited about LG7 everyday that passes oh GODga the legend you are. So happy to get an alternate version of Disease it literally put the song back on the radar for me as an obsessive monster.

back to film discussion rq. i think joker 2 is a good movie still and i've watched it like 3 times. enjoyed it every time. 

 

saw gucci twice, its ok. imo the weakest of her three films but the performance is still strong. she held her own against acting titans like de niro. 

 

asib is the strongest film of hers and has a great performance, but she was better in joker imo.
