killer_rose Posted September 8 Posted September 8 DWAS better go #1 in the next 2-3 weeks before The Weeknd comes and take over for months if he is going to serve Blinding Lights. 1

A lot of songs get stuck at the lower top 20 on Pop and HAC. It's a saturation point for songs without power rotations. So, now we wait for the rotations to kick in (hopefully in the next few weeks). 1

That kind of hit happens once in a lifetime. Besides he is on his way out. Remember Take My Breath / Popular flopped and Dawn FM underperformed. He is not a threat. 2

'He is not a threat' The way some of you are so cocky now when Gaga finally has a hit Die For You smashed AFTER Dawn FM, so you never know. He sampled Thriller and the Halloween is just around the corner.

You mean the song where he had to run to Ariana to turn it into a real hit? He got lucky it went viral on TikTok and his label actually did something about it, that's all. 1 8

The solo version od Die For You has over 2.4 billion streams on Spotify alone, almost as much as Shallow The song went mega viral, ofc a remix was needed for it to peak higher, but lets not pretend The Weeknd needs a feature to properly smash. You just need a good song and a timing. Miley is a good example, nobody was expecting Flowers to become one of the biggest smash hits of all time. My point is - you can never write someone off. For fucks sakes, you stan Lady Gaga how many Times was she written off as not being a threat? 12

Miracle Posted September 8 Posted September 8 8 minutes ago, frankvert said: They need to release vynils / some kind of variant...but the week to release them is quite tricky cause it has to align with a great amount of airplay, high streams (similar to last week) and no huge release on that week. I think vinyls could take it to #1 in the UK where radio isn't taken into account in maybe one week. Also in Indonesia and Philippines, although those will be happening organically. I guess radio is our only chance at #1 in the US unless they release vinyls + three "versions" of die with a smile + vmas performance same week lol 3
