Yeah, a more lowkey visual makes sense to me too. Everyone is obsessed with CGI, AI, digital and over processed stuff these days. Dua going for a more clean and model-ish approach could be really good for her. Note also that it doesn't mean basic or uninteresting. Hugo shoots were also very "simple" but they made it looks amazing.

i so hope the album is called Chaos Theory and has festures with Caroline Polachek and PinkPantheress… imagine that level of servery

Please…not those flops. :rip:

If she adds collabs on the album, I need her to choose something more mainstream (on her level) like Bad Bunny, Taylor, Harry, Ari, The Weeknd, Lana or Drake.

We want none of those. Big name collabs always bomb and take away the attention from the lead artist. Keep the album all solo or do one or two minor collabs.

I actually disagree wholeheartedly tbh, Dua rode out the last wave of the “pop star” which is pretty much completely dead right now. I think she would do so well with a more low key sound and image. Dua having the same visual direction as something like CTRL by SZA would hit.

Oh please, people said literally the same thing before the Future Nostalgia era started. Why should she become boring just because most other pop stars are more "low key"? I'm sick and tired of the "low key" stuff invading everything.

that's just how trends work tho, she can make another FN and firmly close herself in the Ava Max and Zara Larsson box or she can do something different and show that she's a worthwhile artist that's sticking around. the album doesn't even have to be lowkey, i'm not expecting an album of lounge songs, but i think we're gonna hear a more musical side of her this time around rather than a club focused record.

Low key doesn’t equals boring or even downtempo. :rip:

People are desperate to group her with Zara Ava Rita etc

I expected this era's aesthetic to be more sleek and minimalist, which I think is actually quite exciting :duca: That doesn't mean boring, there's actually a lot of variety and possibility in that kind of aesthetic.

Also a Pinkpantheress collab would be perfect, I said it like over a year ago that I can see them collabing for DL3 and I hope it happens

I'm ready for new Dula Peep. She always delivers quality

I agree with the people saying no collabs. This album should be all about her and her own take on the psychdelic sound. Collabs rarely work nowadays, they're so cheap.

yeah leave the collab for when we are five singles into the era and we need to promote a song that's been out for months with a remix

She will obvi save collabs for remixes of later singles like with Levitating and the planned but cancelled Physical remix.

Also I know we joke a lot about ''we need a No.1 debut this time or she's over!!!'' and obviously I want DL3 to smash as well but deep down idgaf honestly. I just really want new music from her, I want to see if her vocals have changed/matured, what her vision for this album is, what her inspirations were, why she chose this sound, I wanna hear the production: how layered is it, is it rich sounding?? Etc

Honestly after that Levitating fiasco... Idgaf either. That was so nasty e corrupted, it took the rest of credibility that they had.

I'm sorry, WHAT? :ahh:

Dua surpassed them a long time ago, people need to stop those comparisons. Also i find it funny how your definition of Dua being "different" would be... to become the exact same artist as everyone else on the charts right now? :rip:

I don't want her to be "different" if it means becoming incredibly boring. She wasn't chasing trends with Future Nostalgia and it paid off massively for her, i don't want her to become too safe. I'm all for her evolving musically from FN but not everything has to be "low key", whatever that means :rip:

I agree. Obviously i would love to see her getting even more hits and solidify herself as one of the biggest pop girls of all time but at this point i want quality music more than anything. I feel like she already had enough success in her career so far to guarantee her place in history as a pop icon, especially when it comes to UK pop girls. The music itself is what i'm looking forward the most atm, not the charts.

I know with FN she tried to ignore the sophmore pressure for it to smash, so I can't imagine the anxiety she has to work through to make music without caring how it will stack up to the success the FN era was.

Im in the no collab group for the base album. Release singles that do well again with a collab if needed (like Levitating with the one that should not be mentioned) or in a deluxe edition later on.

I’m pretty sure a collab with Billie is at least planned considering all the interactions they had in the podcast etc. She kinda fits the mood of the chaos album too imo.

I’m super excited about the material, but what really gives me the buzz is the tour

I am READY to see the queen live
