oh my god that's so fun!!! i'm glad you enjoyed yourself  also glad to know how the actual festival-goers felt about her shows

One of my friends who came with me had never heard her music before outside of her hits (including HTE) and he said it was his second favorite show of the entire festival. Anyone who denies her performance ability has never been to her shows, it was great :clap3:

What a time that was. Something new almost every day and then take us out completely on Sunday with the Vogue cover

A little late but her HTE performance with Hayley was so good. She's such a good performer.

I just really really miss the way I felt when she posted this

I remember just being stunned by how beautiful she looked...I knew she was about to give us the best album of all time

And although the first few months were ROUGH, HTE era was amazing overall. She committed to giving this album a life, from the gorgeous photoshoots to the Disney+ era to the Grammys to the amazing tour...we really got fed for a year straight.

I HATE how bad they handled this era

the tragic single choices and ignoring obvious bops like I didnt change my number or oxytocin and not making HTE the lead single and dropping the album right after

so many missed opportunities, I'm kinda glad she lost all the grammys because that could give her motivation to do things right next time

Oomf told me Interscope gives her full control of her singles & promo nowadays. So unfortunately a lot of HTE mismanagement was likely her fault.

Not to be pessimistic but I am worried about future single choices. At this point I'm just beginning to accept the possibility that she is going full "alternative" from now on similar to Lana & will not care about charts etc

Yeah, if you read the interview that she and her managers did for billboard recently, you'll know they do give her full control over her work, which is a good thing tbh. The problem is that she doesn't seem to know what is the purpose of a single, so she keeps making bad choices. She knows she's an album artist, so I really don't know why she thinks releasing a bunch of singles before the album is a good idea. Maybe she does that because she's a visual artist and wants to make as many videos as possible, but idk, like, I know she doesn't care about charts but you can be an alternative artist and still make good singles choices.

She did admit in an interview that she has no idea what the GP would like nnn I truly don't think she or Interscope cares about a quick lil hit as long as she's still making bank with pure sales & touring. Even if the GP rejects her she still has a pretty loyal base. I think by the end of it all she'll probably be a slightly bigger Lana which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

OT: 1 year since this masterpiece

this song impacted me so much when it was released, I can't believe it's turning 1 year old today. My favorite song of hte, I love it so so much :priceless:

guess I’m the only one who liked the selection of singles; she presented an artistic project instead of a commercially driven era :clap3:

YP is so depressing yet so weirdly comforting. Sometimes I have to skip it :rip:

it was really a breath of fresh air to see someone as big as her tackle such a sensitive topic & i'm sure so many people are grateful for it.

It has some of her best songwriting as well :clap3:

I love the MV too, very "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman"

Your Power :heart2: a massive grower. I low key thought it was snoozy at first listen, but when it CLICKED it CLICKED

Now it's probably one of my fave songs by her. Deserved 1B for sure

!! She really should have just released HTE in full, with TIA being the only pre-release single. The title track would have blown UP with a top 5 debut & wouldn't have floundered on radio

Billie could easily be the type of artist who gets a ton of GP respect, critical acclaim and hype for her full albums w/o the need for hit pop singles. She should just skip the singles & pop girl era tactics next time and focus on building hype for her albums.

She picked great songs but the issue is the way they were managed - Interscope treated them as full pop singles which hurt her commercially & killed a lot of her hype/buzz. The fact that she sent a 4 minute jazz ballad to pop radio :dies: also the Lost Cause video is forever a branding disaster
