I think I wanted the visuals more than the tour film but I will be there all weekend :jonny4:

She can promote the perfume and the film at the same events tbh :lmao:

I don’t think she’ll release the videos this year (so they aren’t competing against the film) but I can see her releasing a full clip from the tour to promote. Now just hoping it’s either COZY or ENERGY

Halo will become tomorrow the second solo female song pre-2010 to get 1.4b streams on Spotify, the first one being All I Want for Christmas Is You.

It will be the first solo female from the 00s to cross the mark, the second female from the decade after Seven Nation Army and the 14th overall for the decade.

Yes it is sadly, Umbrella too. Halo had a strong lead over any other female single of the 00s but right now is performing worse than Crazy In Love. Umbrella and Hips Don't Lie are not solo, so that still stands tho.

Well at least one theory thus far by the hive has come true. Theatrical release. I can’t wait to see what the visuals confirm..

Guess the announcement is after the show then or just before it.

So we can definitely expect an announcement tomorrow! Hopefully with a trailer that will shed some light on what type of film this will be too!

Ch… I doubt they’ll be much demand where I live but I will still stay vigilant. I’ll probably buy tickets for 2 different shows. First time I’ll go by myself, second time I’ll drag family to witness greatness :gaycat1:

I agree.

The only thing is the Variety article, which is kinda of convoluted in places, suggested the streamers had been advised to get ready to put bids in two or so weeks ago.

What's not clear is if the AMC deal is IN PLACE of those streaming bids or complementary to it. The concert film will obviously end up on a streaming service, but it now seems it'll be in a "second-wind" / home entertainment capacity versus premiering on the service.

All of this lines up **perfectly** with the Jeff Snieder tea about streamers "passing" earlier in the year.

It's almost certainly a case of them passing on paying top dollar for her proposal of a theater release **first** and streaming **after**. They want subscribers, so there wouldn't be much benefit for them doing that. Now, they're being asked to put their bids forward for this concert film's home entertainment release (and hopefully some kind of package deal for the visuals too). Thus giving them more bang for their buck. It's a circular win for everyone. Bey, AMC, and whichever streamer picks it up.

Saying all of this, though. I'd bet Bey is OVER it lol. What was once an easy bag from HBO and Netflix now feels much more difficult. I get the sense they were playing pass the parcel with her wig and she in turn staged a stand-off while seeking new partners. It'll inevitably work out, but just doesn't feel as plain sailing as it's been in the past. I'm not sure what this spells for future visual projects lol.

From how I read it, I feel like the AMC deal is sort of her response to those streamers still not budging on her most recent proposal for the visuals. I think she’s going to do the theatrical release for the visuals since the 50% split with AMC will allow her to recoup as much money as she can for the tour film costs / convince the streamers that she’s worth her hefty price tag.

Then with that streaming deal she will eventually make, it’s a no brainer for the concert film and the visuals to be a package deal (to incentivize the price she originally wanted for the visuals). There would be no sense of synergy for fans to have to go to one service to watch the visuals and another to watch the concert / doc, so it’s going to have to be a package deal for both her and the service she works with to maximize the impact of their products.

It’s definitely a much more difficult process than her last streaming release, so I really hope she and her team develop some sort of new plan going forward for the next acts (aka getting a deal in place first before doing the visuals and shopping it around in search of a home).

I’m pretty sure there was a similar arrangement for the Knives Out 2 movie last year. A limited theatrical release then a Netflix streaming release.

I really hope this is the same release arrangement for Bey. A streaming platform like Netflix or Amazon prime would give Renaissance a much bigger global reach and platform.

I think you are thinking way too deep into this. The studios also passed on taylor, that is why she went straight to AMC. Times are very different now for everyone. No streamer is paying 40 million dollars to anyone for a film...because of the strike, they are all trying to cut cost. Bey going to AMC gives her more chance to make more than she ever would have done with a streamer. Its WORKED OUT for her.

Now lets focus and enjoy what bey is about to serve.

She will also be in talks with streaming  probably again now with new deals because she will want to release it not long after the cinema. It seems like she got her original plan, but had to go about it a different way.

I still hope Netflix buys for streaming. If it’s a success at the cinema. Someone from streaming will definitely want it and it won’t cost as much.

Yeah i'm back to thinking it is the Concert Film. She will treat this as a real film experience, with the movie and then the live album as the soundtrack of the movie. She is positioned for an Oscar nod too if all goes well. Very smart rollout. I'm excited for the announcement.
