I think she should release single #2 (U.S friendly song) this coming Friday to help it build radio and some momentum before BMS peaks (even if it’s not sent to radio). Then next Friday release the BMS video to allow it to have at least 2 weeks of peaking (week of 29th and first week of Aug following the release of the album).

She’ll automatically have 2 songs carrying the album units after the hyped first week sales (3 with the album song the GP might latch to). Then she can release the video of single #2 on Friday the weekend of the VMAs. She wouldn’t only have a nice debut but sustained interest and sales for a while.

When it was just put up for sale on her site if you tried adding an excessive amount of vinyls to your basket and proceeding to check out it would lower the amount to around 29k so if that was correct they put up around 30k of limited vinyls.

I don't know how this thing could possibly work, but how bout she adds more to the quantity without us knowing, no?

Also I keep hearing that the withholding is for the points to count for the album, I doubt she thinks about charts like that. But even so, the bigger the song is before the album, the highest the points when the album drops. Blinding Lights is a perfect example.

This is what I thought but couldn’t remember which song to use as an example. Bodak Yellow was another one.

BMS is already Top 10 in radio, releasing the video as soon as next week would easily take it into the Top 3/5. It's predicted to be Top 10 for a 3rd consecutive week, it's shown great longevity, but it's points are heavy on the airplay side.

I'm still wondering what she has planned for Netflix. There are alot of ways she could utilize that medium. J-Lo's recent documentary was Top 10 (bolstered by the controversy surrounding it) but Beyoncé could easily hit #1 on the Netflix charts with a great project.

which is okay. half of singles in top 10 are like that. harry, lizzo, jack harlow, glass animal, latto.

it's normal thing for radio hit single.

that limited vinyl is doing bad so far. bad roll out, lack of promotion.

(the price is very fine, not expensive at all)

but box sets did amazing, huge numbers.

anyway vinyl will be sold out eventually with promotion.

So do we think the lyrics “Afrter the rain, the pain, and the fight, gonna leave footprints in the sky” from the be alive performance is moonwalking? I hope so because that sounds amazing :jonny4:

She isn't releasing another single before the album.  It would mess up the run of BMS, and stifle the other song.  If you're looking for a bigger hit, then she needs to do promo and release a video, another song being released right now isn't going to accomplish that, either.

Yes. Not only that. Beyonce is an artist who literally deserves radio after a decade of charting well without it. It'd advise the stans to not let people question the true success of this song. Cause they tried it with the music video drag and now look.

She's already gone top 5 and 10 without heavy radio play this past decade. But what gives longevity is radio. Drake and several other artists in the top 10 have already benefitted from an abundance of radio from previous singles. So they can ease back on one or 2 drops. Beyonce has to go harder cause she lost ground on a platform she used to dominate in the 2000s.

which is a good thing imo! two singles before album release is so unncessary, especially in this case where we know/have so little outside of the first single that does the job perfectly (I think/it seems) of detailing what the album sound is all about.

and will we finally get a second single with actual promo (a music video that wasn't already released!?!)

i kind of have a feeling the album and BMS mv is all we will get, then visual album later.

Agreed, I was only hoping for a second single IF the BMS video had already been released. At this point there isn’t any need for a second single.

I wonder if the Renaissance era will serve a second single, it might be another album with a big lead that just continues to sell. Nobody really has "eras" anymore, even the heavy weights like Taylor, Drake, Adele etc.

The rollout is so different from ST or Lemomade, her withholding visuals tells me this is supposed to be a long era, especially considering we are in for act ii and possibly act III.

Theres for sure going to be 1 song at least picked by the GP during album release week thats gonna resonate most with people and thus become naturally single #2.

Dua showed how to create a full on era during the pandemic at that, I just KNOW Bey took notice of that. The FN era was just a brilliantly executed pop era.

you're so right that this points to a long era! further reason why releasing video+single all at once and stacking promo into the first 3 weeks would prep the GP/fans to expect the era to be upfront. This way, they're sort of making it understood that you won't be forgetting about it just a few weeks after release.

I agree that we probably aren't getting a visual component for the album until later (like BIK), which isn't bad.  It'll give the ERA longer legs.

I'm just curious if she'll have a press release explaining what this project is

I can't wait for our feel good music. The last two ears had been so dark and sad. She needs to bring back the choreography and dance music. I've been enjoying Kylie's and ABBA's music and I can't wait for B's dance era :jonny5:

I would love to see a BMS + second single medley at the VMAs, much like what she did with Crazy in Love and Baby Boy. Close the chapter on the summer single, open the door for fall.

But in that case, Crazy in Love was such a bombastic hit it made sense to do it last...but this time if she did this I think BMS should go first as it would also be its first televised performance (likely, unless she has other plans).
