SlayonceKnowles Posted January 14 Posted January 14 (edited) Yeah I'm really looking forward to this trilogy being wrapped up, it's been a mess from the start. And the music doesn't even make up for it, I don't use either albums This has never been a fully-formed idea. I think she's probably kicking herself that she announced this as a three-part project and is just trying to fulfill that in some way. I'm most looking forward to the tour at this point then we can move on to what we all really want, a new Destiny's Child album. Edited January 14 by SlayonceKnowles 5 12

Kristie Kuwa Posted January 14 Posted January 14 People also need to chill a bit: 1) Her mom literally lost her home. 2) Shes a mother of 3 young kids who have to cope with the Trauma that they are witnessing + making sure they are secure themselves. 3) You don't know anything about Jay and Beys friends. Maybe they are deeply affected as well and Bey is helping out. Same goes to Parkwood employees, etc.. There are SO many variables and I find the nerve of a lot of Hive to make it about THEIR unfulfilled, self-absorbed wish to get new content quite disgusting. I was one of THE Hype people beforehand and can clearly see how and why she chose to do what she did. If you feel some type of way, log off and PLEASE mature. Your immaturity shows. 5

Redporus Posted January 14 Posted January 14 (edited) YA YA might have to be removed from the CC Tour set due to the sensitive lyrics with the LA fire. Imagine her doing an LA show and singing "Wiiiiiild fire burnt his house down" Edited January 14 by Redporus 1

However, it still is a product. Sure it's still a product. But we're now entering semantics when my point really isn't to say her music isn't also a product of her's, but that the marketing of her music is no longer LIKE that of a commercial product but an artistic one thus we're seeing very different approaches to how she markets her artistic products (music) and her commercial ones (haircare, perfumes, whiskey).

swissman Posted January 14 Posted January 14 1 hour ago, TizTiz said: "COWBOY CARTER" was thrown together by the premature release date. This clearly is the version she settle on putting out. Hell, even the limited version packaging is in way that lets you know it was thrown together to fulfill the printing date. The album was being tweaked after everything was set in stone, hence why songs were added at the last minute and the official version was sent to printing afterwards. Same with "RENAISSANCE" being set in stone, yet she was filming "BREAK MY SOUL" randomly in New York afterwards, or filming "VIRGOS GROOVE" a year later. The album didn't even have a track list until days before the digital release. You're pivoting here though. You said "nothing about this trilogy has even been finished" and then used COWBOY CARTER (out of a long list of things) as a receipt of your claim. So is your point that COWBOY CARTER still needs to be finished, that she's yet to finish it? If you are going to say things "clearly" occurred, I think we need more than just conjecture to say this. Because with what evidence can you say COWBOY CARTER is an unfinished work? You can allege she "settled" on putting it out but there's nothing to back that up except that she changed things, which kind of suggests the opposite of "settling". If, perhaps, we knew that she wanted to change the album but couldn't because the original vinyl was already printed, that would be settling. From what we know, she didn't settle for anything, she made sure to change it as she pleased even if that meant incongruity with the physical and the digital copies. Anyone who has created art knows an artist is rarely fully satisfied, and if they could, they would tweak it forever. If this means it's unfinished to you, okay, but if Jon Baptiste is to believed, AMERIICAN REQUIEM, a track that alongside the closer AMEN pulls it all together being the final track created for the album seems to suggest it was "finished" even if changed some things in the middle. 2
