For my third Renaissance date, I waited until an hour before the show and bought a resale ticket for a little less than face value.  If it's a tour, I don't think I'm going to put myself through the presale stress and unload a fortune on a ticket right now.

I know we've all said it a thousand times, but I really can't bring myself to justify it so soon after what I spent on Renaissance.

On the Topic regarding Colombia records ( Which is under Sony Music ) . I know  people working for Colombia / Sony and  i just remember a Friend telling me . One of the Hire ups saying " They Work for B and not she works for them " Usually its the other way around . They go above and beyond for her ... Like she is THEE Queen. Yes there might be Adele , Travis etc on that Label . But B can ask for anything and they will stand and do it . I know all these discussion and promo this and that ....but i think some of yall forget or dont know the reall impact and power this lady has .

I believe this power imbalance is tied to 4 leaking a month early. After keeping the Columbia Records lights on through the late 90s and early 00s with DC + her solo career (this isn't hyperbole - she held the top 3/4 highest opening weeks for Columbia albums until Adele as Mariah Carey + Barbera Streisand were sellers with longevity), I wouldn't be surprised if people in her camp thought Columbia sabotaged her first co-owned album with them to get her to run back to the safety of the label. Many articles came out between 2012/2013 that she was looking to part ways or was holding meetings with other labels and publishing companies. It is not lost on me she would reportedly get her masters back soon after releasing that monumental surprise album and deciding to stay and build her label with them.

Sadly, in the wider Grammy discussion, this power imbalance also means that I've learned to accept Columbia is more likely to invest in campaigns for artists it owns outright: Harry's House, Adele's 25, and Pharrell's album Girl (and their songs) have all been beneficiaries of Columbia campaigning in various races Beyonce competed in.

100% stacked vocals. You can kind of hear her tone across the variations of vocals there. I'm not unconvinced that the country girls aren't going BGV there too, but you can definitely hear Beyoncé singing her own harmonies.

I also still personally feel like Kelly and Michelle are in there somewhere. Like if Michelle is not the one singing that random solo "now is the time to face the wind" then I don't know who is because it ain't Beyoncé :clown:

Reading the album credits for vocals right now:

That is Tanner Adell, as well as a "Let Love In" or two.

Country singer CAM appears in the barbershop-sounding parts where the title is sung (in "Amen" too).

INK and DIXSON are also involved in some echoes, as well as most of the members of the choir from the acapella Spirit intro in "Black Is King".

It's being used as background music for badass scenes of some characters in Squid Games 2.

Off topic: but that acoustic version for Spirit is one of my favorite vocal moments from her over the last 10 years. As much as the song is used as a joke (98-OUT) it still is such a career highlight for me. There's so much soul in her delivery.

100%. That version is something I have returned back to in the film to listen to many times.

I seriously want Beyoncé to consider releasing a studio acapella album.

Spirit, Pretty Hurts, Bills Bills Bills, Get Me Bodied, Rise Up, God Made You Beautiful, American Requiiem, Run The World (Girls), I Care, Best Thing I Never Had, Party, Love Drought, Virgo's Groove, Plastic Off The Sofa, Freakum Dress, Me Myself & I, etc. all take on new dimensions when you strip everything back and realize how much her voice does. In a few of these, it even provides the countermelodies + where the bass guitar should be.

Makes total sense.

IMO, acts like Bey are so vital to major labels now more than ever. Adele and co can all sell more than her, but that intangible, largely unobtainable combination that she possesses (commercial success, credibility, innovation, impact, and legacy) is like gold dust to a label.

In a world where the vitality/need for major labels is being questioned constantly, it benefits a Columbia to be able to wave a career-long signee like Beyonce in the face of any prospective new talent to show what can be achieved under their umbrella.

As an MJ fan, and a close observer of the prestige Sony continues to give his music + their milking of his catalog, it deffo clued me up about their need and reverence for acts that serve as the foundation on which their house/entire label system and dream (for future signees) is built on.

It's even more impressive when placed in the context of Bey not being on a 360 deal and owning her masters. Sony probably doesn't make a whole lot on her when it comes to raw $$$ but what they get in qualitative value is worth more for sure.

If this is world-building, and we have now gotten the Cowboys and Aliens origin stories, Act III is Echoville, the dystopian Gotham the final battle will take place in. Fake news and misinformation galore. A Darker sound (rock, jazz, blues, motown, funk) is the perfect backdrop for the battle.  Stoked if this is true.

One more thing: If Act III is the film, I'm assuming the new music / album component to the film (and hopefully a box set of all three projects) will be available when the film is released. We might get a "Black Parade" for the credits coming soon.

Act iii is an album I think, or so we've been led to believe. In the GQ interview she was asked the question:

Quote

Cowboy Carter was the second album in a planned trilogy that you started two years ago with Renaissance. What sparked this grand idea to do a trilogy of records, each exploring different genres?

which she gave her response to and didn't correct the interviewer to say it wasn't a trilogy of albums. And I'm sure elsewhere since the start of the acts it's been mentioned that it's 3 albums of music.
