Offense must move the ball across the field, getting at least 10 yards every 3 plays. If they don't make it, on their fourth play they must either 1) choose to kick the ball back to the opponent 2) take another attempt to move the ball to their next 10-yard marker or 3) attempt to score.

The team can score 6 points by having a ball carrier maintain possession of the ball in the end zone (with an extra chance to kick the ball in for one extra point after the fact), or they can try to kick the ball in between the yellow posts for 3 points. 

If they fail to accomplish #2 or #3, the other team takes over from the position they failed at.
