the "downside" of the way she's been pushing boundaries since ST is that when a song leans more on the conventional side (Pretty Hurts, Sorry, Sandcastles, Cuff It, II Most Wanted, Levii's Jeans my immediate thoughts), it just kinda... pales in comparison to the rest of the album it's on for me

this isn't to say that any of them other than Sandcastles are BAD by any means, but they're not as exciting. it's still a great non-problem to have though :jonnycat:

That's definitely how I felt about Cuff It and how I feel about Tyrant right now…it has such a unique beginning and then transforms into something great but somewhat generic :coffee:

So is it time to start thinking of her next Super Bowl setlist or should we wait until Act III? :clown: Because unless there is another contender there, she has to open that performance and every following concert with YA YA

We gotta wait for act iii. Imagine the collapse.

She wouldn't perform any of her past hits just tracks from her A lesson in Music history trilogy.

Then BAM tour announcement after the SB halftime and she goes on her most ambitious WW stadium tour yet.

i just realized that 'Single Ladies' was the beginning of a love affair between Bey and The Dream, he worked on every single one of her albums since then. also I was shocked to see that he produced most of Renaissance

I don't think we're ever gonna get televised performances again :gaycat7:

And I wonder why that is. Is it because she wants to heighten her big stage tour stops (if you want to see her, you have to pay, and good money at that)? Or maybe those award shows aren't up to her technical standards?

I don't hate it but the rapping can be jarring at times.

i definitely love the outro, it reminds me of what she did with MOVE

She isn't performing for free. If people want to see the greatest performer of all time they need to buy tour tickets.

I really want a modern day B'Day with all of her previous collaborators: Rich Harrison, Sean Garrett, Stargate, Swizz Beatz, Scott Storch, The Neptunes. Maybe even throw in Danja, Timbaland and Tricky Stewart for good measure. Imagine the magic they can do together. I wanna hear Beyoncé's modern day uptempos.

I love Spaghetti. Stll top 5 on the record for me.

It's such a saloon - main street shootout theme and anyone who hears it has taste!

Hello Hive,

I am coming to say that I had doubts about Cowboy Carter, and I'm so happy that I was dead wrong to have those doubts. It's the best album of the decade for me. Basically perfect. Beyonce wins. My fave could never.

My fave songs:

American Requiem

YAYA

Levi's Jeans

Tyrant

Bodyguard

Spaghetiii

The album is a 9.75/10
