Are y’all implying that Act II, if released first, would’ve made Renaissance a bigger era? Or do you think Renaissance was necessary to awaken this streaming resurgence?

Act 1/Cuff It was insanely necessary

The UK are here for her anyway, I’m sure it’ll be a cute top 5 hit for her if nothing else :clap3:

If the trajectory stays this way, what do yall think the album will do?

Could be her biggest opening yet

It won’t surpass Lemonade or

ST. But I’m feeling a cute 500k

Friend I would describe as basic texted me and said they love Beyonce's new song. She's finally grabbing hold of the simpletons! Maybe ATRL will bandwagon now

"Friend I would describe as basic..." is definitely one of my favourite ways a post on here has been started :rip:

I get the impression that this drop was a surprise to everyone except Tidal, given how it had to be added to playlists by curators in real time, after they listened to it. So many other artists who announced their Friday release probably had their placements planned.

Wouldn’t be shocked if Dua usurped THE on a bunch of other playlists tonight.

This makes sense to me, its not like they would know she was going country and have immediate access to the music.

We’ve known for nearly 2 years, why wouldn’t people in the industry know?

I listen to 99.5 regularly (don’t drag me, I like country music). Absolutely amazing and down earth DJs and this proves it

Well I see a 50-60m debut on Spotify this time around

pure sales depends on how many copies her team produces and if they get it sent out on time. Would 250k pure sales in the states be too ambitious? I think Ren did 190k but I know there were quite a few limited pieces

unless TH’E turns into this monster SMASH hit like flowers or something I do not see the album being her highest lol. More than renaissance? yeah I definitely see that happening

I think the album will open much better than Renaissance too, as others have said she’s in a better streaming place.

BUT her and Miley aren’t the same. Flowers unfortunately couldn’t get ESV a 300k opening like BMS did, despite the absolute smash it was. With TH’E being a bigger hit than BMS, I can’t see it Act ii doing less than 400k. Assuming there isn’t a shortage of physicals.

I really believed Hold ‘Em would tank but looks like it’s gonna be a cute local US hit :clap3:

It won’t make noise in Australia since Taylor is touring this month and she will devour every spot on the charts for the next few weeks.. Hoping the rumours are true and Bey announces Australian tour dates first :celestial4:

Yeah re the album, vinyl is huge rn so if they come prepared she would be picking up sales that she has otherwise lost from the digital era to now. People don’t buy physical CDs but vinyl is super popular and if she gives a good enough incentive to grab them it could benefit her. I won’t set her up but I’d love to see higher than Renny. Her consistency is key

Definitely agree vinyl is important! I’m low key a Bey hater (mostly about her writing and credits) but i definitely bought the Renni alternate cover vinyl for collection purposes. I didn’t care for the music until I snuck into the movie last year.

I’m actually excited for act ii so I’m ready when the vinyl preorder drops. And if this music has been ready for 2+ years there’s no reason physicals shouldn’t be ready for release day. Tbh THE and 16C should’ve had a 7” for release or at least for second week.

I've been loosely following chart updates (and buying all the versions on iTunes and Amazon). Is a #1 debut realistic, or are we looking at a solid #2?

No one said #1 was on the table other than fans hoping

Since ST, I've always hoped she hold the title for biggest first week sales by black female artist.

This could be her longest running #1 too album if Taylor don't release.

Renee Rapp celebrated the act ii announcement by covering "Daddy Lessons" at her show in Paris. the crowd being so loud was a pleasant surprise.

I can't believe we went from "she hasn't had a number 1 hit since Bush" to this :ahh:and now, the Circus lady, the Dark Horse lady couldn't even crack top 100 :rip: I believe the ARTPOP lady won't see any number one anytime soon unless she collaborated with Taylor or B.

We went from daily streaming poison thread to a complete silence from the haters. We really WON.
