Jude Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 Ugh, wish The Weeknd is holding that record for a longer time.
pride4jc1222 Posted September 27, 2022 Author Posted September 27, 2022 The Bubbling Under list has been the emptiest it has been in a long time. If RUTH goes recurrent before the 11/19 chart (when WoY hits its 52 weeks), this list will probably be completely empty, unless a Christmas song other than AIWFCIY is charting at that point. BUBBLING UNDER: #40 Latto - "Big Energy" - 48 weeks #15 Morgan Wallen - "Wasted On You" - 45 weeks #19 Kate Bush - "Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)" - 37 weeks
UnusualBoy Posted September 27, 2022 Posted September 27, 2022 I can't believe that Ghost song has charted for 52 weeks,

None of Gaga’s hits after Bad Romance really had any sort of longevity. To be honest, she’s lucky if she even makes it to recurrent most of the time. Taylor is pretty much in the same boat as well, especially since Reputation. Ari got carried there by The Weeknd (and tbh she really wasn’t needed on that song for it to be a hit either) though.

Prior to that she had Just Dance with 49 weeks and Poker Face with 40. Delicate charted for 35 weeks for Taylor, but while that's a respectable number, that's still a bit too far to make the cut off. She previously had Teardrops On My Guitar, Love Story, You Belong With Me, and Shake It Off chart for 48, 49, 50, & 50 weeks respectively. Ariana's songs other than Save Your Tears have generally had limited longevity, with her previous longest charting single being 7 Rings at surprisingly only 33 weeks, followed by Bang Bang as her only other song with 30+ weeks at 31. I guess that has to do with the fact that Ariana always has consecutive hits following each other so they eat up the previous one's longevity, and she's also never really had any sleeper hits; they've always been big from the get go. The problem is that no such songs exist because they've already gone recurrent. RUTH is the only song on the charts between Wasted on You and As It Was in weeks on chart.
mystery Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 It finally happened, "Heat Waves" has tied "Blinding Lights" for the title of longest running song and is certainly going to surpass it next week and hit 91 weeks charting. (Before being possibly sent into recurrent quite soon status by Taylor and Lil Baby debuting their albums).
