This doesn’t make any sense? RedTV can have more streams but also sell less as an already 7x platinum album. Like what ballpark do you think her next brand new album is going to open with

Depends on how many covers it has on week one. IF it has 16 like Folklore, I can imagine her reaching 700k, as long as the physicals are all ready to ship on week one so they can be counted. If she also has vinyl, and signed CD's ready to go she can approach 900k. If she somehow comes up with another thing she could go to 1 million.

Same!! Would have loved to see an unstaggering amount of Folklore CD stands in Target and Walmart just like 30. But as you of course know, folklore and evermore were both surprise albums and didn't have physical copies in stores in their first or even Second weeks :rip:

the website bundles only half made up for it not being physically available in stores. 30 had no bundles but it had physicals,, folklore was reversed. So no, you would have not liked seeing folklore under the same situation or rules.

Lover, idk.  Probably not, she went all out and still wasn't able to cross that line. Maybe with better singles she would have done it on any week. The fact she got to 800k with Me!th as lead is mind blowing.

Folklore, maybe and probably so if it had physicals in stores. Or maybe not, because you don't know how much the 'surprise' factor aided, or didnt, at all.

It is not accurate to say that Folklore did not have physicals, seeing as every physical copy ordered on her website were counted for week one and included in her opening numbers. So, for all intents and purposes it DID have physicals, just not in stores.

Will you be adding additional rooms to your home? Other wise it’s not comparable.
OT: Adele slaying as per usual - worldwide in fact!

Do you consider deluxe editions a whole new album?

Who knows! Maybe next time she’ll have shelves and stands and whole sections full of her albums and different colored vinyls, maybe she’ll even halt productions for other artists because she grossly over estimated what her next album will do :wave2:

The plural of vinyl is vinyl.

LOL, please stop acting as if Red TV was treated like a standard deluxe release that everyone does.

It was treated and promoted as a brand new album. Enough with the delusion please.

BUT IT ISNT

a week of tv appearances isn’t going to make people suddenly forget that they heard almost all of these songs a decade ago, like I don’t understand what isn’t clicking. Look at Love 4 Sale, no one’s treating it as anything other than an album of covers because that’s what it is, regardless of the promotion it got ?

so the 110k vinyls sold out in the first week?

Some stores still have them as it still sold 30k vinyls 2nd week, but many are sold out and her website in the US has been sold out since middle of week 1

:ahh::ahh::ahh: Today I learned that doing 2 late-night interviews where half of your interview is explaining why you're re-recording your old album to the audience is considered "brand new album treatment/promotion" :ahh::ahh::ahh:

Ah those days…

the fact that 21’s 352k opening week was barely the third biggest week for 21, the biggest being a year after release :dies:

i dunno why specifically Buble’s album is this huge xmas album year after year tbh

Adele’s pure sales is insane! I take it back, with sales like this she will definitely have longevity.

Red TV crossing 100k on its third week is phenomenal. :clap3:If it gets 99k I’d be mad :dies:

Kudos to both these ladies crushing it. Now stream All Too Well 10 min version and Easy on Me!

That's all they could ship for the debut week - if you go to her website to order one it says they now ship in January :skull: either they underestimated her demand for vinyls or Adele pressing 500k vinyls also meant Red TV would be supply constrained

Adele swamped the vinyls production for everyone. There’s whole ass articles about how this greatly hurt small and independent artists.

There’s literally articles from billboard variety and NME about how she literally didn’t the wait was the same before her is the same after her but do go on with whatever helps your agenda

variety literally talked about how the 500k vinyls from 30 doesn't even equal to 0.3% of current vinyls being produced :deadbanana2: they are clinging to whatever narrative they can, the insecurity.

Have you read those articles or just the headline? Because while the title says that Adele is “not the problem” what the insider is talking about in that specific quote is that the issue are not vinyls themselves but the difference in revenue income from physicals to streaming and that streaming should pay more (a whole different subject), whereas they comment on her hoarding the vinyl being true and all about her “doing better than the rest”.
