Especially with streaming: they're usually super conservative with SEA, even when the numbers point to it being higher than what they are estimating. Well, the numbers don't really suggest much higher than 158k at this point for 30 - it got about 75k in the first 3 days, and that includes the first day being larger than others, as any normal release. In addition, I'm not aware of them having ever been intentionally conservative besides maybe releases like 25 or 1989 - which had projections rising more or less each day, rather than remaining the same - and even for those I don't believe they ever stated that they were being cautious.

That their current estimate for 30 did not significantly change (833k is nearly in the middle of the 800k to 850k range) should give you a clear sign of how things are going. Take that as you will. u think she can sell 25k more on last day to get to 700k?

blackbeatxx Posted November 23, 2021 Posted November 23, 2021 675k SOLD albums and we’ll just see what happens but given how 30 is seemingly doing on AM, 160k SEA sounds a lil conservative. but, we dont know AM numbers so

At this rate it's possible, but I don't think it's likely; I thought she'd do 650k to 675k based on Billboard's initial reports for her first three days, and now HDD are predicting 675k. Seems like that's pretty much the upper bound plus or minus a few thousand, especially now that Targets are closing on the last day of the tracking week (and they'd have been potentially her best source of sales).
UnusualBoy Posted November 23, 2021 Posted November 23, 2021 The pure sales are insane, 675k , I was hoping it could get closer to 900k in overall activity tho.

Adele has 2 diamond albums in the US and just had the biggest debut of the year with her latest release in just 3 days. If you don’t want people to compare, then it’s very stupid to go onto say how “Taylor is a bit head of Adele”. It’s counterproductive and is doing the exact same thing you just told someone else to stop doing. I respect you Blackbeatxx but this post is all over the place. georgechxng Posted November 23, 2021 Posted November 23, 2021 I love how she could easily cross 900k by pulling off the signed cds gimmick but won't do it because 1. she is too lazy to make up time for that 2. she doesn't care 675k pure is insane. What the hell.
State of Grace. Posted November 23, 2021 Posted November 23, 2021 Red Good #s for Adele albeit a lil underwhelming

But who on their right mind buys a digital album in 2021, when you have Spotify, Apple Music right there, or you can download the songs in your CD right into your computer/phone? georgechxng Posted November 23, 2021 Posted November 23, 2021 Swifties are so insecure she's pulling off the biggest debut of the post bundles era and had 2 blockbusters albums on US out of 4 with 21 and 25 (just like Fearless and 1989 out of 11 from Taylor). If Taylor can prove she can do that much without any gimmicks with TS10, then I think y'all can have the "Taylor is bigger in the US" discussion but for now only one of them can excell at both singles and albums without releasing 16 different versions of an album and 8-10 remixes of a single throughout the week
iam1925 Posted November 23, 2021 Posted November 23, 2021 reputation remains unbothered, the best dark pop album still the record holder Not bad for Adele, she did all what she can do to promote this album. All the TV specials, the promotion in all the biggest cities in the world (even booking an ad in the tallest building in the world), interview with Oprah, TTH placement and playlisting. Even EOM and the comeback hype somehow helps to achieve this 800K sales, tho the sales expectation is somewhat different
ALA Posted November 23, 2021 Posted November 23, 2021 Isn't Adele doing good on Apple Music? Thought the streaming #s would be higher

I don't understand why some people insist that Adele and Taylor's careers are comparable in US? Sure Adele has 2 HUGE albums (2 of the biggest of the past 20 years) and 4 humongous hits but Taylor has 5 albums which has sold 5 million at the very least and some others around those numbers too, big hits, insane streaming power, record breaking touring numbers, etc and all that in the span of 16 years and with no signs of slowing down, I mean... get it right girls...
Heart.me Posted November 23, 2021 Posted November 23, 2021 Queen Adele with good numbers, but I was expecting a 1.0M debut tho. Great hold for Silk Sonic.
