Eyedi - Caffeine: Absolutely love this song :heart2:

BoA - One Shot Two Shots: A cünty bop from the K-Pop blueprint :katie2:

Aespa - Black Mamba: YOU WANDER THIS KWANGYA AYAYAYAYAYAY HEY! (Next Level is better)

IU - Jam Jam: I'm not an IU fan but this bops. Her voice isn't great tho

f(x) - 4 Walls: All-time classic, sent this back in VL5 and it only got SAFE. Hope it gets its revenge

SUNMI - pporappippam: Queen of K-Pop snapped

Eyedi - J.us.T: It's cute but it's no Caffeine (or &new)

YUKIKA - Soul Lady: Queen of City Pop snapped

f(x) - When I'm Alone: Godly song, can't believe Carly scrapped it from EMOTION

SHINee - View: The way you sent the best male group and their best bop :clap3:

ITZY - Wannabe: ITZY aged, but I can't deny they used to have classics like this one :jamming:

SUNMI - Noir: Synth-pop purrfection :WAP:

ITZY - Icy: A grower quirky banger. Wannabe outsold tho

Taeyeon - I (feat. Verbal Jint): I love Taeyeon's part and her vocals are incredible, but the feature was not needed

Eyedi - Caffeine: Nice. it's chill for sure.

BoA - One Shot Two Shots: Okay I guess.

Aespa - Black Mamba: Idk. Compared to next level this is generic.

IU - Jam Jam: It's on the lowkey side. Not bad tho.

f(x) - 4 Walls: Yep. A staple indeed.

SUNMI - pporappippam: I like this one.

Eyedi - J.us.T: Still nice. Prefer this over caffeine for like the lounge/house influence.

YUKIKA - Soul Lady : Lovely track. Made me want to check out her album.

f(x) - When I'm Alone: It's decent.

SHINee - View: I really wish 1 of 1 was sent instead. I don't mind this song but it's not one of their standouts to me.

ITZY - Wannabe: Wanted to like this but it's grating to me unfortunately.

SUNMI - Noir: Great production mhm.

ITZY - Icy: Keeps my interest more than their other song.

Taeyeon - I (feat. Verbal Jint): Sorry but this is bad.

Posted

Eyedi - Caffeine: very cutesy, kinda wish it had more punch towards the end cause it stayed a bit one note but overall I enjoyed it

BoA - ONE SHOT, TWO SHOT: it's kinda whatever, it's not bad by any means but I wouldn't personally save it to my kpop playlist

aespa - Black Mamba: bitch it's the mother freaking CLASSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! imagine having a debut this good... they're crazy for this

IU - Jam Jam: I used to enjoy this waaay more than I do now, it's aged a bit for me now but nonetheless it's still a very cute song

f(x) - 4 Walls: cute club'd bop, Cash Me Out would've been a #1 for me though

SUNMI - pporappippam: probably my #1, this song is SOOOOOOO good I'm obsessed you don't UNDERSTAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eyedi - J.us.T: it's like.... fine? If her other song here was kind of one note then this one lacks a note I fear, it like went absolutely nowhere but I guess it works as background music, it's not bad cause I did groove to it but like nothing grabbed my attention

YUKIKA - SOUL LADY: this was VERY fun, it feels like a gay ass party and I loved it

f(x) - When I'm Alone: I actually prefer this over 4 Walls surprisingly, loved the chorus, still wish it was Cash Me Out though!

SHINee - View: oh no baby this is bad... if you were gonna send men you should've went with TAEMIN.

ITZY - WANNABE: was never a big fan of this, I really like the chorus but the rest feels like noise to me and the gyal who opens up the song made sure her voice sounded as grating as it could

SUNMI - Noir: she kinda has the smashes huh? pporappippam outsold but this is still a banger, will be high for me

ITZY - ICY: a BOPPPPP, back when they were good... RIP ITZY

taeyeon - I: girl............... if you wanted to go for taeyeon she has like an album full of many better options than whatever this mess is

I'm sorry I wrote so much~

Spoiler

Eyedi - Caffeine // Huge, huge classic. She’s an incredible K-Pop soloist who plays a lot with the genre and the different styles that tend to be popular in her own way and well she does all this ahead of the curve. Basically saying that she’s a trend-setter, yeah.

I remember hearing &New for the first time in 2019 and being immediately enthralled by her style. Something about her is just so effortless. Like she pulls off this cool factor without trying too hard and as a result you get these immaculate songs with tons of different layers to them. The common thought I have with these forward thinking K-pop songs is “wow I wish this could cross-over to our pop girls”. But the thing that is a huge part of the appeal of this song is Eyedi herself. Her slightly breathy vocal and the infectious chorus that is still in keeping with the mood of the song but differentiates itself in a way that there’s an _actual payoff_.

Caffeine is arguably her best song ever and easily one of the coolest K-Pop songs i’ve ever heard. We are STILL waiting for an album or something from Ms. Eyedi, but for the time being I’m so glad you sent this song. It’s a fantastic choice, easily in my top 3 for the round, and we’ve only just started.

SYo7zyd.png

BoA - One Shot Two Shot // In an industry like K-Pop it’s really a miraculous feat to still be releasing big bops like 20 years into your career :jonny:. On first listen I think it’s pretty easy to write this off as H&M music. It definitely has that vibe to it, and it’s not as immediately exciting as a few of the entries to come, but not bad for Ms. BoA tbh.

It’s got that ~SM-polish to it that I generally enjoy and overpraise. You know that like club pop bop quality? It’s slick in the right places and enjoyable the whole way through. Very competitive round but know I really liked this!

HXk5byn.png

Aespa - Black Mamba // When the Next Level sender sent last round I was like alksdjfhaksdf because that would’ve been a literal #1 contender this round (I still gave it my #1 last round because I love it but you know).

Anyway the video for this is magnificent. It’s such a great way of debuting a group like this. There’s so much going on and it’s so flashy and “techy”. The song itself gets dangerously close to a trend in K-Pop I don’t like (it’s why I barely listen to Kpop these days) where it’s just noisy and has these weird chanty vibes that replace actual choruses or melodic bits.

However, what I like about Aespa is that so far their songs feel like disjointed parts stuck together into these bizarre transformations that make them incredibly exciting to listen to. Like this song feels like one long rush that I haven’t experienced with a lot of other K-Pop songs. It’s noisy sure, but there’s something about their songs that gives them these extra special qualities that I admire. Like the bridge is so dramatic, the chorus is so faux-edgy, the whole thing is just a wild ride that I love.

RhD18nL.png

IU - Jam Jam // This album gives me so much nostalgia. Jam Jam tends to get a bit overrated sometimes because its like the “boppiest” song she’s done in a discography of mostly midtempos. I think it’s got really cool bits to it, I like the somewhat haunting delivery of the repeated pre-chorus, and the airiness of her vocals throughout. I also love the very very slight jazzy vibes with the piano and the bass. It gives this a sultry big band style that elevates it past your usual K-Pop pop bop.

I actually prefer Palette from her, I think it’s got a bit more of an edge to the lyrics and is ultimately more fulfilling. I find Jam Jam is like a fun little bop that you have in the background and enjoy, but not something I put on repeat or enthusiastically listen to often. I’ll still be giving it a good placement though because at the core it’s a great song.

7CgAyuS.png

f(x) - 4 Walls // There’s a reason this had the entirety of K-Pop fandom in a chokehold and that’s because it’s basically the perfect song. This took SHINee’s blueprint with “View” and basically polished and perfected it in all the right places. It’s incredibly suave, effortlessly cool, and portrays f(x)’s signature style so wonderfully.

Like, okay it’s just a house song but why is it SO good :jonny: Years later it’s still as addictive and magical as the first times I heard it. This is also a flawless album so yeah you made a great choice. I don’t want to say winner but like… this is what I’d sprint to send so…

Anyway this was the peak of my K-Pop love, and f(x) were at the time my favourite group. This album came in like a lightning strike and basically spelled out pop perfection for me. I think it’s probably in my trinity of K-Pop albums of all time, partially because it’s so good, but also because of nostalgia and the attachment I have to it.

knVnV8X.png

SUNMI - pporappippam // So I think City Pop infused K-Pop is basically the best invention to ever exist. In fact, in 2020, I made a top ten K-Pop songs list for the whole year and the entirety of my top 5 happened to be city pop styled songs. Sunmi was at the top :eee: so that probably gives you a good sense of where my mind is with this song.

This is arguably my favourite song she’s done, although it’s a competitive batch for her. I like the retro elements this song plays with, the electric guitar riffs in the bridge, the very like… neon city streets vibe of the chorus, and her delivery for this song is really chilled but still interesting. I feel like there’s hooks upon hooks here and I LOVE pop songs that do that. Basically this is the sonic equivalent of a cool vintage anime with glitter effects thrown in for good measure. She nailed city pop with this song.

Tr081xS.png

Eyedi - J.us.T // Suuuuper cool, remember what I said about Eyedi being effortless. I like the production on this so much, it has a more straight-forward dancey vibe and once those synths kick in it feels like something from a cool video game. Also this was on my list for 2020!

Her vocals here are a completely different style than Caffeine but, again, she pulls it off. I love the softness, the gentleness, everything about how she captures the mood here. I’ll agree with some of what has been said before though that this feels a lot more like a mood piece~ if that makes sense. Like it sets up a brilliant tone and atmosphere and I will loop this for an hour for sure, but it’s stacked against some huge Kpop classics and you can probably tell how passionate I am about this round so…

x1OTbyV.png

Yukika - Soul Lady // This is another win contender. Yukika casually debuted with one of my favourite K-Pop albums ever. A MASTER class on city-pop inspired Kpop, Yukika has the ability to take feel-good retro styles and create something utterly magical with them.

I love so many different aspects of this that it’s almost hard to nail what I like the most. The second verse stands out though because of the cinematic quality it has. But really, there’s a dreamy vibe the whole way through. Almost like this song was recorded through one of those aesthetic VHS filters. Like, idk they just nailed this when they created it. Every single decision made was done on purpose and you get this high energy, vivid painting of ‘80s pop. That chorus is literally everything. It takes this song to even further heights and just… yeah, this is amazing.

7CgAyuS.png

f(x) - When I’m Alone // The closer to 4 Walls (thankfully) has them avoid the ballad cliche and instead deliver this vibey mood piece of an ‘80s inspired synthpop BOP. I really think the production here is, once again, reminiscent of a video game. But it feels like one of those atmospheric water levels from an N64 game idek.

The chorus is explosive but not too explosive, it lifts the mood just enough to stand out in your mind. I really just like the subtle background elements though. Each adds a new layer (like when there’s THAT synth in the second verse). I’d say this is a song where I vastly prefer the verses to the chorus, but yeah it’s good.

H6OsfoR.png

SHINee - View // Oh wow it’s Minho and friends! Easily my favourite boy group in K-Pop, SHINee consistently get it right (up to um their last two albums). I was obsessed with this song for a LONG time. It’s also a massive trailblazer so yeah they’ll always have that for them (this basically gave way to years of similar house influenced songs by every K-Pop group under the sun).

Over time I have come to sort of move away from this song. SOmething like “1 of 1” portrays their style a bit better to me and to this day remains one of their most exciting songs for me. Or theres something like Sherlock which sounds like nothing before or after it. Idk, this is a great song of course, but I guess I’m not getting the same magic I used to get?

hvRUIOH.png

ITZY - Wannabe // They’re so hilariously annoying but it’s so endearing to me and IDK WHY!!!! It’s like every song they do is so brilliantly abrasive that it will refuse to leave your mind for hours afterwards. This song is a common situation in K-Pop where your first listen is like “wow this is the worst song ever” and then gradually you start to pick out things you like about it until you basically realized you’re listening to a massive bop. The chorus is a little cringeworthy here lyrically but that’s kind of become an ITZY staple at this point tbh.

Unlike Black Mamba though I don’t find the same “thrill-ride” scenario here. I think this is just a case of a song being so catchy that it’ll stick with you. But I can’t say I would go back to this that often. I love Dalla Dalla though!

knVnV8X.png

SUNMI - Noir // Another example of the wonders of city-pop in Kpop. Sunmi is probably the most popular artist to take that sound and create massive hits out of it and I think it’s easy to see why. This has a lot of great elements to it that I love. The NooooooEEEEyaaaaaIIII parts are a massive hook, and I love the heights that the chorus reaches in general. At times she sounds a BIT on the bored side, but I think it’s something I usually overlook because the song is just a bop. I guess I have the least to say about this one but it's still good!!

hvRUIOH.png

ITZY - Icy // Okay this bop. Why does this have SO much going on at once yet it works. I love the little bits of like Old Navy commercial, the usual ITZY noise pop bop, the absolute YELLING of words, the random drums. Idk there’s way too much for your mind to focus on but I think that’s the point and it makes a pretty grandiose point.

What’s best about this song is the electronic elements to me. I’ve said “video game” way too many times doing these critiques but come on, it has a glitchy video game feel to it and that’s the BEST part??? At times I feel like all of the different components are at war with each other. It’s like ten different things at once all vying for your attention and you don’t know which way to look. You could say that’s the technique they use with all of their songs but I think it’s most prominent here. I like it though, I feel like that’s part of why K-Pop sets itself apart from conventional pop. It really wants to capture you in any way possible - there’s no passive listening here pls.

Also just… “I see that i’m icy” is so quotable lksdfs they’re so much fun

QBKLrNF.png

Taeyeon - I // I remember this being SUCH a big deal back in the day lskfhwe. Like the anticipation for this was insane. Taeyeon is one of those singers where it’s like “okay yeah you can sing we get it” and as a result you get these Hot AC type songs or worse snoozy ballads. I won’t lie though sometimes she makes these songs worth it.

I definitely think that this reaches dangerous like Coldplay or some other 2005’d alt-rock band territory which isn’t inherently bad, but it is a little on the corny/generic side. I feel like there’s enough about this that I enjoy though that it won’t be near the bottom for me. I just think there’s better Taeyeon songs out there that I wish would’ve been sent instead.

Also I will echo what others have said that the rap(?) was not needed here fff. It’s the Taeyeon show and should’ve remained that way. ANyway I’ve rambled on about these songs for so long and I know that everyone is going to be pressed that I wrote ten sentences instead of giving them an idea about my ranks but thank you for ending this batch on a VERY nostalgic moment for me <3

Eyedi - Caffeine

This was cute, I personally wanted a bit more oomph from the song though!!

BoA - One Shot Two Shots

Ooh this was inch resting, I liked the build up and the small details in the production are great

Aespa - Black Mamba

This is the "too much" I wanted from Caffeine

IU - Jam Jam

Eh... it's not bad, but not memorable enough compared to the others

f(x) - 4 Walls

This was cute too, I was kind of expecting more since I know this is like a kpop classic, but it didn't really stand out that much to me, but it was definitely still pretty good

SUNMI - pporappippam

Omgg perioddd, this is what I was expecting for this round and you nailed it, first time hearing all these songs, but this one was really good

Eyedi - J.us.T

It wasn't bad, but very plain and not exciting to me sorry :(

YUKIKA - Soul Lady

This was really cute, I liked it!!

f(x) - When I'm Alone

Liked this better than the other f(x) song, this was pretty nice! Some parts are kinda ethereal feeling

SHINee - View

Eh, kind of too generic, wouldn't play this again

ITZY - Wannabe

Yep, liked this. I do agree that it was kind of at 100% the entire time, I would've preferred some highs and lows, but it's just a fun song anyway, not a Celine song where we expect EMOTION, BEAUTY and wonderfultastic vocals!!!! It does what it was aiming for

SUNMI - Noir

I enjoyed this, wasn't the best of the round, but it was enjoyable!

ITZY - Icy

This was definitely... not boring! It's kind of A LOT at first, and still is, but I'd imagine it would grow on people. But will be ranking this decently since I much prefer messy but keeping my attention to boring songs!

Taeyeon - I (feat. Verbal Jint)

You probably expected this by now, but this is gonna be a no from me, probably the only song in here I would say I actively disliked, the others ranged from okay to great

Eyedi - Caffeine

- Love the vibes of this song. Issa bop. Wish it went awff in the final chorus a bit more but overall, I liked it.

BoA - One Shot Two Shots

- Legend did THAT! Brings out the **** in me and makes me bop like a ****.

Aespa - Black Mamba

- I really tried getting into their music and started with this song but this is turrible. SM has produced better girl groups with better discographies.

IU - Jam Jam

- Yeah, no. This ain't it. NEEEEEEEXT!

f(x) - 4 Walls

- Now this is how you do it. They don't do it like this anymore. A massive classic. One of my favorite K-pop songs of all time. That production is so good.

SUNMI - pporappippam

Spoiler

- The intro alone.

Dwk74TaVYAAat6S.jpg?width=400&height=242

And then that drop leading to the great chorus?!?

Soul Winnie GIF - Soul Winnie The - Discover & Share GIFs

A bop. 10s across the board.

Eyedi - J.us.T

- It's not hitting as hard as the other Eyedi song. Idk what it is but it's lacking something. It's not a bad song but kinda forgettable.

YUKIKA - Soul Lady

- Ugh, I love city pop so much. I grew up listening to a lot of Japanese city pop playing in the background but I have never heard of Korean city pop. This was a pleasant surprise. It's a bit busy compared to the usual city pop I am used too but still able to remind me of my younger days.

f(x) - When I'm Alone

- I still don't know why Carly decided to keep Black Heart and rejected this. Anyhow, as a massive E●MO●TION stan, I really approve this. Cash Me Out and Deja Vu would have been better choices for me but this is still a great song.

SHINee - View

- View, sweetie, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry that ugly ass bitches like these would even say these. Oh my god.

No but srsly, I just don't get the hate for this trendsetting classic. It's probably the best song made by an all-male K-pop group and one of the best K-pop songs of all time. View walked so that songs like 4 Walls could run. LDN Noise did THAT. Also thank you Jonghyun for writing this song and may you rest in peace.

ITZY - Wannabe

- Nope. Not it though this is miles better than the other ITZY song.

SUNMI - Noir

- Ooh, love this song. I bop.

ITZY - Icy

- Yeah, probably the song I don't like the most this round. NEEEEEXT!

Taeyeon - I (feat. Verbal Jint)

- I actually love this song if we ignore the feature. The feature is so unnecessary.

it’s a mega classic

Eyedi - J.us.T

this is one of the best songs of 2020 period

YUKIKA - Soul Lady

I like this more than their other song this round tbh, this is great

it’s a bit reductive to me, but catchy

I feel like a lot of the other group songs here follow a formulaic approach, but this one really stands out to me, it’s unique and fun

Kavish Kritiques

~

Eyedi – Caffeine

The atmospheric production and breezy vocals are a comforting combination. An alluring nod to the 80s.

BoA - One Shot Two Shots

The chorus is the most catchy part, but it gets displeasing with repeated listens, so I prefer the verses.

Aespa - Black Mamba

The drop and the aie-aie-aie part in the chorus are bothersome, but the two verses are okay. "Next Level" was more chaotic but somehow more engaging.

IU - Jam Jam

The vocals are cute and the slowed-down talk-singing parts are entrancing. Overall a chill song and a standout for not being too conventional.

f(x) - 4 Walls

A nice blend of everything. Aptly named 4 Walls with the production, verses, rap part, and bridge coming together to create greatness.

SUNMI – pporappippam

The background instrumental sounds mystical and ancient at parts which is a delightful contrast to the general celebratory production.

Eyedi – J.us.T

Same remark as "Caffeine" except this one is more low-key. The "oops" throughout is a sweet touch. I should check out her music because I like the mood in these two songs.

YUKIKA - Soul Lady

It has a bittersweet feel to it which is both uplifting and heartstring-tugging, and since I don't relate to happiness, this is a good recipe for a happy song for me. Her vocal melodies are also beautiful.

f(x) - When I'm Alone

The chorus is a bit "manufactured", but the explosion is not overbearing. The verses and overall vibe of the song are still attractive.

SHINee – View

The chorus is catchy but the song sounds too radio-catered. The type of song that I wouldn't mind hearing, but also wouldn't listen voluntarily.

ITZY – Wannabe

It's an energetic, overjoyed, and ambitious song, but my inner being is the opposite of all these traits and therefore I feel assaulted by it.

SUNMI – Noir

The adlibs are noteworthy and the song is polished the right way. I am in noir too, SUNMI, so bonus points for that. The blackness of darkness forever.

ITZY – Icy

Same remark as "Wannabe" so I guess I'm an OITZYH now, but this one has some interesting elements to it.

Taeyeon - I (feat. Verbal Jint)

Anthemic and euphoric, and Taeyeon's voice is gorgeous. The instrumental is heavenly so I'm glad there is a spotlight on it at 2:10, and Verbal's part is also tolerable.

BoA - One Shot Two Shots - this is a bop

Aespa - Black Mamba - I really enjoy the more chill parts but then there are noisy parts I dislike

IU - Jam Jam - love her voice, this is really good, love it

f(x) - 4 Walls - Yeah I like this, not my fav song here but I do enjoy it

SUNMI - pporappippam - I like it a lot

Eyedi - J.us.T - this is amazing omg, this Eyedi singer is a slay, let me check out her discography

YUKIKA - Soul Lady - Pretty good mhm

f(x) - When I'm Alone - yes it's nice

SHINee - View - this was okay, it's not bad but im not gagging

ITZY - Wannabe - this was fun and catchy

SUNMI - Noir - Amazing, I am loving the more chill songs

ITZY - Icy - it was alright, not a big fan but it's not bad

Taeyeon - I (feat. Verbal Jint) - This girl is SANGING which I adore but I am not a fan of the rapper whatsoever. The female SINGER is great though!

Caffeine - she is very 80s’ed, which sometimes I don’t like but I love it here! That really sharp-sounding synth in the chorus yess!

ONE SHOT, TWO SHOT - first of all I would have loved to see Fox :( but regardless I really really like this, the production is great!!

Black Mamba - I think I am just not really an aespa fan sadly, I don’t really like this one :( kind of annoying

Jam Jam - this song kind of stands out for having much worse production than the other songs, I mean it’s not that bad but compared to the perfection of the other tracks… yeah. Outside of that I actually like it though!

4 Walls - I can easily see why this is such a big hit that I’ve actually heard of it before sksk. Not my favorite of the round but it’s really cute

Pporappippam - this really surprised me, how cute oh wow! Feels generic but also very unique at the same time? Idk it has a very like genuine vibe that feels very refreshing

J.us.T - not really feeling this one, it’s a bit sleepy to me, not bad though, I like the “oops”

Soul Lady - oh wow the title did not lie! Well I love R&B so a great choice to me! It has that fun old school soul / “city pop” flavor! The chorus could’ve been a bit better but overall really liked it

When I’m Alone - I love those echos in the production, all the synth sounds are selected to well oh wow, it’s very cute

View - let me be clear I have no issue with submitting men, I probably listen to the most men out of anyone in this game!! However this is a weaker choice to me, it doesn’t really feel as high energy or interesting as 4 Walls, it’s not bad but feels a bit more flavorless. Many better choices from them imo

Wannabe - aksfdjka something about this song is kind of funny to me? Maybe all those sound effects in the prechorus. It feels really fun, very memorable to me. I can’t decide if I am just entertained by it or if I really enjoy it so I guess it will be in the middle

Noir - doesn’t feel nearly as cool and interesting as her other song to me, it’s pretty bland

ICY - oh so all their songs are like this. Um this one is REALLY obnoxious, I mean so was the other one but… this is really rough

I - I is right, because I- salkdflkj this is SO different from the other entries, kind of screaming, I actually do kinda like it. It’s quite an inspired choice ngl, like why did you submit this, but to ME it’s cute

Eyedi - Caffeine

I really really liked this! Very catchy/enjoyable chorus and sparkling production :smitten:

BoA - One Shot Two Shots

A lot of fun!! The tone of her voice is really light and pleasant to listen to tbh. The chorus risked becoming grating at times, but I think she reigned it in enough to not overdo things.

Aespa - Black Mamba

Ooh wow the electronic production on here is very immersive and explosive. I thought this was pretty good overall tbh.

IU - Jam Jam

Mmmmm... I was enjoying the round so far, but this one threw me off. Something about the melody and vibe isn't working for me.

f(x) - 4 Walls

The atmosphere and chorus of this is very very fun. I wasn't crazy about the 2nd verse - the rap kind of dragged.

SUNMI - pporappippam

Beautiful! Feels like it could be a hit anywhere tbh

Eyedi - J.us.T

Cool production and memorable hook. I like it.

YUKIKA - Soul Lady

Kind of fun but felt a bit generic??

f(x) - When I'm Alone

Cute - I enjoyed the chorus!

SHINee - View

I found the chorus of this one to be pretty irritating and vapid.

ITZY - Wannabe

Ma'am this is NOISE

SUNMI - Noir

Definitely prefer mid-tempos like this to whatever that last song was. Very nice! The fluttering production is a cool touch.

ITZY - Icy
I feel like this is the type of song I have heard from K-Pop artists before, and why I've never really listened to the genre. Absolutely horrible.

Taeyeon - I (feat. Verbal Jint)

This felt like ... a cheesy ballad that someone would sing at the end of Camp Rock to faint boos form the audience

BoA - One Shot Two Shot

oh pls this is GREAT! :jamming: i def enjoyed it a lot yea, it's not too much for me and the chorus is very addictive

tbh i thought this was gonna be like a BIG DANCE bop at first but this is so good whew~

Aespa - Black Mamba

ooh i like this more than amsonthenext!!level!! for sure ya. it sounds like one song and not 10 songs mixed together

and the black mamba part is just so catchy.. so yea this is a great pick

IU - Jam Jam

omg i just love the fact that this is very sexy and sensual? and its a very chill bop!!

the pre-chorus sticks in my head now.. i need some SUGAR! urgh very good song

f(x) - 4 Walls

OH Y'ALL!!! big bop and def one of my favorites from the batch for sure :heart2: i don't know the meaning of this

but it just makes me feel so happy and i feel like everything in the song belongs in its place, amazing.

SUNMI - pporappippam

many people seem to like this song from what i've seen in another discord community :heart2: and u know what...

they're right. it has grown on me a lot and urgh help, i love this. literally, so cute and so fun.

Eyedi - J.us.T

this ASC smash? its very... cute, yea. it's more lowkey than other submissions here

so i fear that it might be overshadowed because of that :katie: but its cute.

YUKIKA - Soul Lady

i feel like people overhyped this song a bit ngl like im listening to this again now and its just okay-ish

its not bad at all. its just a bit very there and middle of the road-ish hehe

f(x) - When I'm Alone

ooh they serving hard this round huh. i prefer 4 walls to it but this is another great song from them

i enjoyed it!!!! and i think you should be happy idk idk :weeps:

SHINee - View

well its def a standout because its the only like full-men song in this round.. i have to say that

i am very mixed about this because there are some cute parts but then again its just okay.

ITZY - Wannabe

yea pls this is so basic but somehow i kinda enjoyed it a lot  like it actually makes me feel good and keeps me interested for the whole song

so i think thats a plus and yea, very satisfied with this one x

SUNMI - Noir

lol x see, i like pporappippam a lot but with this song, its just a bit meh for me like i just wish i like the song better

because i feel bad for not liking this but then again, maybe this song is just not for me :emofish:

ITZY - Icy

i prefer wannabe to this one hehe but i enjoyed both songs surprisingly!! this song is fun

and yea.. thats it? like it sounds like a mess but its very fun so thumbs up!

Taeyeon - I (feat. Verbal Jint)

oh its this song! somehow, the chorus is like a smash and i've heard it a lot.. i just hadnt listened to the full song until now

yea i feel like the man doesnt rlly add anything and it'd be better without him but i enjoyed this!
