• Astro - 7 - I can understand why you would submit this, but it's missing that significant portion that really brings us to what we need for a perfect score. 
• thecptz - 6 - i don’t see this as an escape to somewhere to be honest, like i could see why you did but for me i just didn’t think about it that way. It’s like him just walking and thinking about life and his relationship.
• Staryu - 6.5 - I feel like this is just about a relationship, they’re going somewhere I guess, C for effort.
• Buddy! - 7 - So I see why you chose this, but it doesn’t fully fit IMO. Like it’s halfway there but doesn’t fully meet the criteria. 

 

Alex Gaudino - Destination Calabria

• Astro - 7.5 - Not this 2000s song dfkjghdfkg. I mean, it's not a bad entry, per se. It's just missing something.
• thecptz - 8 - i think you did great picking a song compared to others.. It did mention leaving all the works and all her troubles at home and just having fun and escape~
• Staryu - 7.5 - This talks about leaving their troubles behind and going to paradise, so it works.
• Buddy! - 7 - Again, it fits the whole idea of leaving and going to “paradise” but doesn’t even talk about why, etc. 

 

Daya - Montana

• Astro - 9.5 - This is a great choice (surprisingly) LMAO
• thecptz - 9.5 - this is perfect for the theme. She mentioned wanting to leave because of the busy lifestyles, the hectic things going on in her life so it works. The song, though, i wish it’s a bit better so that i could give this a 10. sobs.
• Staryu - 9 - I feel like this fits in really well with the theme and the example song.
• Buddy! - 8.5 - This is a good choice! Definitely speaks to the theme and gives us an idea of what Daya is thinking. 

 

Boston - Hitch a Ride

• Astro - 9 - This is also another great entry. This (and Montana) both have the elements the other 2 songs were missing: what they're escaping.
• thecptz - 9.5 - yea i think this is another great song for the theme.. Like it mentioned him wanting to leave because the city sucks and just want to go to a different place, maybe a forever escape.
• Staryu - 8.5 - It talks about leaving it all behind and sailing away from the cold/dark depressing city, it fits the theme.
• Buddy! - 9 - tag him if u need a comment

 

Driving to Hawaii - Summer Salt

• Astro - 7 - She's cute. Not perfect though.
• thecptz - 6.5 - awww i love this song so much like its one of the indie songs that i would go to when i want to be happy! I think this could be great cause like hawaii, tahiti that the singer mentioned, it might be where they want to go to escape. But then, the singer mentioned everything is better when we’re together so they don’t need these places and i’m confused. That, i feel, makes you get this scores from me.
• Staryu - 7 - This is cute I guess, it’s kind of on theme.

• Astro - 6 - This is missing... A lot. All it really has going for it is the travel element, but there's nothing else to it.
• thecptz - 6 - yea, this is more of a travelling song rather than travelling to escape the problems song. I could see why you chose this but it just didn’t fit the theme much.
• Staryu - 6 - Hmmm, this has a traveling element but that’s about it really. 
• Buddy! - 6 - tag him if u want a critique

 

Madonna - Holiday

• Astro - 8 - This is a solid entry, albeit missing a little bit, but compared to some of the other songs, this is one of the best entries sdkjfsd. So yeah, Buddy is on crack.
• thecptz - 9 - i don’t want nothing much just like the song should have the feeling of wanting to escape of everything and this song has it! Buddy is literally on crack. [2]
• Staryu - 9 - It talks about getting away, releasing the pressure, forget the bad times, it’s cute. 
• Buddy! - 5 - Sure, it has the going on a trip part but literally nothing else. 

 

Kelly Clarkson - Breakaway

• Astro - 8.5 - This is an almost perfect entry, imo. It's got almost everything on point aside from like, the stress portion. She's craving to break out the small town, yeah, but that's not the same as wanting to escape stress.
• thecptz - 8 - i thought this wouldn’t work with the theme but it somehow works quite well. 
• Staryu - 8.5 - Kelly definitely has the wanderlust in this song, she wants to get away/travel, but it’s not really because of pain/stress/anxiety, maybe a little bit ‘something felt so wrong here, I guess it works.
• Buddy! - 7 - tag him if u want a critique

 

MNEK - Paradise

• Astro - 7.5 - The only thing this has going for it that raises its score is the pre-chorus fff. 
• thecptz - 8.5 - all the reasons why mnek wants to escape are explained really well, methinks. Mnek just wants to escape all of this so it’s on theme but this song sucks.
• Staryu - 8 - They want to escape to paradise b/c the world is too cruel, it works.
• Buddy! - 6 - tag him if u want a critique

• Astro - 10 - me with this entry:
• thecptz - 10 - amazing. It’s everything i want, so idk who sent it and idk why miyake has 6 entries but thank you to whoever sent this.

• Astro - 8.5 - This is a lovely lovely song. I remember hearing it for the first time and finding it so so pretty. That being said, it's almost perfect. It's just missing a little bit, unfortunately.
