this must mean the remix is actually getting some significant airplay because this never happened with SYTremix, she could tie for #1s with her next album

I go by how Billboard credits things and they count "Die For You" and its peak for Ariana.

Because Billboard Pop Airplay started in October of 1992.

 

Mariah had 8 Pop Radio #1's between 1990 and June of 1992 that aren't included here:
