Christina Aguilera - Genie in a Bottle Catchy classic Destiny’s Child - Temptation Kinda boring, I get you wanted to go for a song that isn't so known but it's not something I'd listen to again Shakira - Ciega,Sordomuda I don't know a lot of Shakira's songs pre-Laundry Service but I've heard a few and surely there were better picks then this. It's decent but that's it. The Cranberries - Zombie One of my all-time favorite songs! The voice, the instrumental, the lyrics: everything about it is just soooo good! Britney Spears - Crazy Catchy classic, pt 2 (but a bit better) Cocteau Twins - Iceblink Luck Unlistenable, couldn't finish it. Garbage - I Think I’m Paranoid At first I didn't like it but the longer it played, the more I liked it! Roxette - It Must Have Been Love This sounded better in my head. Maybe you should've picked another song from them? Fiona Apple - Criminal Don't get the love for Fiona Apple on ATRL, this song is also not for me. The Cardigans - Lovefool Didn't know the title or artist of this song (while I listened to it a lot), but damn, it sure is catchy. Selena - Como La Flor Shakira wins in this spanish battle Spice Girls - Viva Forever This was played a lot in my country at the time so it brings back a lot of memories. Love it! Pet Shop Boys — Being Boring The production/vocals aren’t really for me, but this is lyrically interesting. This is one I’d have to do several passes of to figure out where I’d rank it. Whitney Houston — I’m Your Baby Tonight The progression/escalation of this one — especially vocally — is great! Love that we’ve got one of her uptempos for contrast since “I Have Nothing” is grouped here as well. TLC — Creep Another “Absolutely”. The Cranberries — Dreams Lyrics are beautiful & I’m liking her higher/softer vocals on here. Very different from “Zombie”. Lisa Loeb — Stay (I Missed You) This is cute but compared to the songs I’ve already heard & ones to come (that I already know) it's weak. I think this’ll be towards the bottom of my ranking. Aaliyah — One in a Million Tried sending this… it’s just such a beautiful song. Ultra Naté — Free Aaaaah, this was one of the ones sampled in “Ego Death”, right? This is really nice, the chorus is especially uplifting. Destiny’s Child — Bills, Bills, Bills My favorite song of theirs with their original lineup. Definitely ranking high! Britney Spears — Sometimes Awwww, everything about this entry is cute. Whitney Houston — I Have Nothing Christ, what a classic. Whitney was just soaring in that final chorus. She’s gotta be one of the best with final choruses in music. Spice Girls — Wannabe This is cute but I never treasured it as much as many have. Cher — Believe Smart choice since here you can never really go wrong with Cher! Another classic & such a nice way to close the group out. Waaaay more difficult to rank compared to R1+R2. Temptation - when i got into this album properly, this was my fave song i love the beat, the lyrics, the harmonies. gorgeous song. Ciego sordumuda - don't really care for shak's first two albums. this is one of the better songs from that era though. Zombie - RIP to the singer but i never really cared for this. You drive me crazy - Not her best BOMT rehash Iceblink luck - i was ready to hate these hags but this is goodwait I think im paranoid - sooo is this what Miley listened to making plastic hearts? i love the chorus It must have been love - i dont think ive heard this outside of movies/80s radios she has some pipes but mehhh Criminal - not her still getting sent umm at least its not that pots and pans mess. Tidal and When the pawn are excellent ya Lovefool - this is surprisingly fresh? like it could still be released today, sounds so crisp and timeless Como la Flor - not a fan of this :x i dont like Selena generally for some reason (an angel ofc) Viva forever - WHAT is this ray of light reject ?????????????? i love it GROUP B Spoiler Dreaming of you - wait Bc i just said i dont care for her but this is so ethereal. very Mariah, love it Being boring - it's ok i feel like a lot of talentless singers took up their style when they do 80s revival songs nowadays so it sounds kinda bland I'm your baby tonight - YESSSSSSSSSSSS this masterpiece Creep - ive liked this more, its okay Dreams - it's a no from me :/ Stay - a bit too coming of age movie for me Free - what is this boppppppppppppp it' going straight into my library Bills x3 - Nnnnnnn i should love this cuz Bey is my fave BUT it really goes on for WAYYYYYYYYYY too long. it gets really repetitive after 2 minutes dd. Sometimes - one of her best early career singles love it I have nothing - one of her most formulaic ballads :x dont like this much. maybe its the X-Factor influence but, meh. Wannabe- this is kinda annoying but such a bop whew Believe - this is such a BANGER but it always brings tears to my eyes....... its so powerful, campy, emotional and anthemic. WHEW WHEW yall really stepped it up this round. So many great songs, classics and ones i didnt know. This is gonna be hard to rank.
