her debut album is platinum in the UK (300,000).

Only once Platinum, despite having so many career-defiining classics. Most other territories it's multi-platinum. It was only cert. Platinum in 1994, after she'd had more top 10s with Hero and her first UK#1 Without You.

 

Only Vision of Love hit the top 30 from the debut era.

 

It took the UK a few years to warm to Mariah's strong gospel-soul influenced sound and her biggest first hits in the early 90s were all covers - I'll Be There, Without You, Endless Love.
