Two of the curated holiday playlists on Spotify with the most traffic don’t even feature Mariah. Brenda is top 2 on both of them - it’s why US Spotify in late Nov-Dec is the sole outlier in their stats.

Where do you think people go when they want to listen to Christmas music on Spotify ? Christmas is approaching so obviously, these playlists are getting more and more popular. Mariah and Brenda being on huge Christmas playlists helps them a lot, but Brenda being #1 on that playlist while Mariah is N/A gives Brenda quite a big advantage.

The playlist is for songs from the 50s to the 80s so its normal Mariah isnt on it. 

She still has a reach of 24 million more than Brenda so no, overall Brenda is at a great disadvantage.

Unlike Brenda, Mariah has a career outside of Christmas so her songs in general obviously appear by default in more playlists, while Brenda mostly appears in Christmas playlists because it's the only song of hers that people know. It should also be noted that AIWFCIY is currently appearing in 121 charts vs 54 for Brenda, which adds up to the song's playlist reach.

I was talking about the reach of their xmas songs SOLELY. 

 

Playlist reach has nothing to do with the charts so no it doesn't.

Ugh why are Spotify Germany sabotaging Brenda ? If she was on that playlist she would surely make the top 50.
