That was the week before that. AIW is not allowed to chart outside the top 25... so... it was not eligible to chart last week.

It would have been top 40 in the next chart but because of recurrent rules it cannot chart until it’s top 25.

A carryover from the days when it took a long time to collect data and then physically publish the chart in a magazine format and deliver it to stores for people to buy what would look like a fresh chart for the current/coming week instead for a week or two ago.

November 14th (Monday) 2022 = #39 vs  #43 (+8.2% streams lead)

 

Considering US Spotify is where Brenda ended up outperforming on Xmas day, Mariah is off to a better lead this year.

Well it is no surprise really considering Mariah currently has a reach of almost 70 million on Spotify while Brenda barely has 30.

the haters say Mariah is playlist heavy, but it’s actually Brenda who gets her streams from those - she picks up around Xmas for that reason (and because she’s on the popular classic Christmas playlist).

People actually add Mariah to their personal playlists while Brenda’s streams are driven by the curated ones - hence Mariah’s domination before the Xmas season. I know it hurts but you’ll be okay
