alestevens Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 (edited) Hi. I wanted to make a list out of this, thought it would make an interesting stat since Europe is always discussed as an important market for popstars to crack. I included 16 European countries for this list, because they are the ones one of the main sources for the thread tracks (acharts.co): UK, Ireland, Sweden, Netherlands, Norway, Belgium (Flanders), Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Denmark, France, Germany, Poland and Finland. Disclaimer: Acharts.co only tracks all the way back to 2003, so stats before those were briefly researched, if there are any mistakes please provide receipts and they'll be fixed. If there are any acts missing, please let me know of the receipts and they'll be added too! OVERALL EUROPEAN RANKING: 1. Kyungsoowift Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Taylor Did not expect her to be at #6, yet alone Top 10 cause ATRL keep calling me she's local to US & Australia only!
Rith Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 not spain paying dust to gaga like that, after ALEJANDRO
Kylizzle Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Impressive for Tay considering her albums didn't have much international appeal in her country era
Holiest Dreams Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Wait @ Taylor. It can’t be... I mean, ATRL has spent years assuring us she’s local because Europe is her weakest market (despite dominating everywhere else) and yet she’s still slaying there? Could it be that they lied?

Kylizzle Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Just now, StrangerInTheDark said: her pop era is longer than her country era. She had like only 3 country albums. Technically Red was marketed as a country album, though that's really up to the listener. It was labelled as country in stores though, 1989 was her first album labeled as pop on iTunes / in-market upon release.

One Rude Boy Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Wow Taylor did that with three pop albums, considering debut-Red is undeniably without a doubt country albums. Madonna’s absolute stomp is insane
LanaDelSex Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 having trouble using the site, but what are lana’s numbers like?

Ms. Togekiss Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 I thought Taylor was super local to the US and a complete flop? Why do these numbers tell me otherwise? should I believe ATRLers or actual facts? And if she’s a mega flop what does that say about everyone below her??
Shelter Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 The most shocking thing is the UK not being on Britney’s list.
TaylorFantasy Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 I spent the last 6 years being told Taylor's local / irrelevant in Europe, I assumed her global peers would easily have more. I can't even begin to tell you how shocked I was to find out that not only did they have less, but they weren't even close for the most part!
kyris89 Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 I'm pretty sure that my queen Avril Lavigne is somewhere there
Zaram Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Gaga a global legend. Competing with the big girls only
JawBreaker Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 ohhh wow so Taylor is indeed GLOBAL I can't wait for her to build her touring power all over Europe whewwwww I'm sure even France and Italy that keeps ignoring her will BOW DOWN one day
