CORRECT WAY TO SEND ME YOUR RANKINGS

hi, i didn't bother you all with this last round since i was still getting the hang of it, but please from now send me your rankings with only the title of the song (correctly spelled).

Example:

imagine

Honeymoon Avenue

Dynasty

Breakaway

etc.

No need for you to add the artists or the number of the ranking on the side (unless you're sending through ATRL and using that specific function which doesn't copy and doesn't matter). This will make it easier for me to manage all the rankings and should be easier for all of you as well.

Thank you!

right here: probably my fave Brandy song!!!!! love this as a choice
LFN: fun obviously
knew better / forever boy: absolutely obsessed
where's the catch: interesting choice, quite like it, up against stiff competition tho x
i don't even smoke weed: like this, kind of a random choice, when i'm with him was right there x

kill vs. maim: amazing

BOMT: biggest classic ever but.. well i like it more for nostalgia value not hugely for the song itself

haaAakkKKK!!!: this is... likeable. not particularly memorable
hold on we're going home: this mainly reminds me of being in clubs when i was at uni. and i normally left the dancefloor when it played

I'm a ruin: hard pass, hate her voice in this
ain't it fun: nice but is it enough to score highly?
garden: good

what do i tell my friends: ok she served???? adding to playlist

what's your pleasure: amazing [2]

i feel like my group is weaker than A, maybe that could help me in some way x

and oop the hoe that stole my main choice is in here too.

Sky Ferreira - You're Not The One - It's alright. Admittedly the chorus could be stronger.

Rina Sawayama - Who's Gonna Save You Now? - The background stadium effects :rip: I'm good.

Nicki Minaj - Chun-Li - Eh. Good for memes I guess.

Gwen Stefani - What You Waiting For? - Not one of my favorite gwen songs, but I kinda like it still.

Jojo - Vibe. - This era of JoJo does nothing for me. This song included.

Beyoncé - Broken-Hearted Girl - Boring and uneventful.

Jojo - Too Little, Too Late - Classic!

Rina Sawayama - Comme Des Garcons (Like The Boys) - Best single from the album :jamming:

Beyoncé - Schoolin' Life - I'm not attached to this but it's about decent.

Britney Spears - Oops!... I Did It Again - Recognizable. Good with me.

P!nk - F**ckin' Perfect - F**ckin' Terrible

Madonna - Drowned World / Substitute For Love - I wanted to like this more cuz of the production. Her vocals doesn't move me here though.

Janet Jackson - That's The Way Love Goes - Yep. Very sensual. I like how I hear this quite often on the radio too.

Mitski - First Love / Late Spring - It's fine. I like the buildup.

Green Day - Holiday / Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Holiday >> Boulevard. I don't use this for the whole 8 minutes but I like it more than some of the other entires here.

Sky Ferreira - You're Not The One
I really like the instrumental on this song. I don’t find the vocals to be that memorable though :/

Rina Sawayama - Who's Gonna Save You Now?
This is enjoyable. Musically, it makes me think of a modern version of Eye of the Tiger

Nicki Minaj - Chun-Li

One of Nicki’s best! This was my original choice d

Gwen Stefani - What You Waiting For?

Love her but not really a fan of her vocals in this song ?

Jojo - Vibe.

I really like her voice and think she is very talented but I find this chorus to be very annoying ?

Beyoncé - Broken-Hearted Girl

This is very cute. It sounds kind of dated due to the production but It gives me a nostalgic vibe that I can enjoy

Jojo - Too Little, Too Late

Giving you my #1

Rina Sawayama - Comme Des Garcons (Like The Boys)

This is really fun, I like the backing vocals and the vibe a lot

Beyoncé - Schoolin' Life
I just heard this song for the first time yesterday because another contestant wanted to send it as their entry. I don’t listen to a lot of Beyoncé but I found this song to be really good!

Britney Spears - Oops!... I Did It Again

This is honestly my favorite Britney song

P!nk - F**ckin' Perfect

I have some feelings attached to this song so it’s not easy listening to it very offen. I don’t know if it hits me due to the memories or if I actually like the song...

Madonna - Drowned World / Substitute For Love

The first half is lovely but not dynamic or memorable enough. Loved the instrumental and atmosphere from the second one, but once it reaches the climax her vocals are not very pleasant

Janet Jackson - That's The Way Love Goes

This is very chill. I like it. I do wish it shorter though

Mitski - First Love / Late Spring
I really like the progression of this song! It’s really nice and enjoyable. Gives me a peaceful feeling

Green Day - Holiday / Boulevard of Broken Dreams

Emo classics yup

Schoolin’ Life kinda the best song of all time, whoever sent that lost that they didn’t get put in my group :jonny5:

Brandy - Right Here (Departed)
Her vocals are great (obviously), and I really enjoy the chorus. It just feels like the rest of the song is just...giving a reason for the chorus to exist.

Katy Perry - Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)
This is kinda the worst single from the TD era.

Ariana Grande - Knew Better / Forever Boy
This is kinda the worst song on Dangerous Woman (excluding the random Macy Gray song :skull:)

James Blake - Where's The Catch? (feat. Andre 3000)
The production is kinda edgy, which I enjoy. The actual song is just there? I mean it's definitely not bad. I'd listen to it in the background.

Empress Of - I Don't Even Smoke Weed
Same.

Grimes - Kill V. Maim
Not everything that's ~different~ is good and society will be a better place once we collectively agree on it.

Britney Spears - ...Baby One More Time
LOVE turn-of-the-milennium teen pop! This is one of the first songs that come to mind when the genre comes up, and for good reason!

OurR - haaAakkKKK!!!
...extra title ass aside, this is nice.

Drake - Hold On, We're Going Home
I've kinda always enjoyed the atmosphere of this song, but it's not ever something I seek out listening to.

Marina - I'm a Ruin
...midtempo. Ew. Her singing voice pisses me off as well.

Paramore - Ain't It Fun
This song depresses me, which...well you know it's the point. Such a fun-sounding song being so depressing made me hate it :skull:

SZA - Garden (Say It Like Dat)
I'm pretty indifferent to this. I forget how it sounds as I'm listening to it? It's not offensive, at the least.

Bree Runway - What Do I Tell My Friends?
This is a fun song! I'm fairly into it.

Jessie Ware - What's Your Pleasure?
Imagine if her vocal delivery wasn't so boring. I enjoy the production, at the least.

MY CRITIQUES

You're Not The One - Um Nobody Asked Me (If I Was Okay) was right there sis

Who's Gonna Save You Now? - It’s not bad but for some reason the second half of her album never clicked for me :(

Chun-Li - Cute for a throwback

What You Waiting For? - I was not excited to hear a Gwen Stefani song from 2004 but this is a classic I never knew the title of :praiseshockpoor:

Vibe. - She’s so basic imo, pass

Broken-Hearted Girl - It’s a song from I Am… Sasha Fierce.

Too Little, Too Late - Yeah even her old stuff doesn’t do it for me, pass again

Comme Des Garcons (Like The Boys) - Talent :grimes:

Schoolin' Life - A classic from her second best album :shelven:

Oops!... I Did It Again - Classic and better than BOMT yup!

F**ckin' Perfect - Very basic

Drowned World / Substitute For Love - Too long but I enjoy this type of 90’s ambient production a lot

That's The Way Love Goes - Impactnet made some points here

First Love / Late Spring - My #1 :grimes:

Holiday / Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Get the *** off my spotify I’m not listening to that

Brandy - Right Here (Departed)

I love Brandy, though I mostly listen to her albums up to and including Afrodisiac.  This isn't bad, I remember it being a throwback hit f.  It's just a little dated compared to some of her more forward thinking material.

Katy Perry - Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)

Yeah... I've never liked this song.  The production is nostalgic which is fun, but the vocal and the delivery style kind of kills the mood for me.  It's always been among my lower ranking Katy singles.  The joy and energy just isn't the same here.

Ariana Grande - Knew Better / Forever Boy

Looooove this song so much.  The two parter is brilliant, the production the whole way through is a DW highlight for me.  I love the hint of old school vibes she brings.  Definitely a standout from the album and probably my favourite track.  #1 its youuuuuu

James Blake - Where's The Catch?

I like Andre's part!  The production is interesting, kind of haunting.  This was definitely a strong track from this album, though I don't see myself returning to it often.  It's good though.

Empress Of - I Don't Even Smoke Weed

Something about her voice makes things a bit dulled out for me (not just on this track but in general).  I think it needs to click with me more... or maybe its just a thing I have to face.  This song isn't bad but I wish it was more exciting or had something to draw me in.

Grimes - Kill V. Maim

Grimes is so hard to get into sometimes.  I like Visions, but everything after that is just not really something I'd want to listen to frequently.  This is exciting as a track but has a bit too much going on for me to fully get into it.

Britney Spears - ...Baby One More Time

Nice classic.  It's one of those songs you can't deny is a solid bop.

OurR (아월) - haaAakkKKK!!!

Oh wow oh wow, I'm going to add this to one of my personal playlists.

Drake - Hold On, We're Going Home

Whew a classic!  I always loved this song, and to date its still one of Drake's best.  Super solid, still sounds pretty fresh.  One of those singles that feels like a classic right away from release.

MARINA - I'm A Ruin

Oh this is a mood.  I like the vibe.  I'm not usually into Marina that much, but this is a very dramatic sounding song that isn't too extra, which I like.

Paramore - Ain't It Fun

A mood.  Fun song, not my favourite of theirs but great entry!

SZA - Garden (Say It Like Dat)

Okay this is unpopular but this is actually not among my favourites of CTRL.  That being said... that album is whew, so I will be placing this high just because its such a solid work that even though I don't love this song as much as the others its still worth admiring!

Bree Runway - What Do I Tell My Friends?

Very cool vibe.  Really interested in her and will probably look more into her discography!

Jessie Ware - What's Your Pleasure?

First time listening!  Not a fan.  It's okay, and I get why it made such big waves among the forum/music snob crew since its like... light disco. But that's where it ends.  It's just not that interesting frankly.
