Taylor fanboy Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 Do we have Obsessed Mariah Haters? This is the #1 we all deserve.
doonerr Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 If any song in the history of pop music deserved to go #1 is this
Rick Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 What # is she this week? I suppose it went down a bit ?
mariahcarey Posted November 25, 2019 Posted November 25, 2019 How does the chart work for old songs, does it still get the same amount of points that new songs get?

Maybe they will introduce it next year, now it’s too late. Btw this rule is so stupid. If the song is the most popular one during the given week then it’s a #1 wtf lol

If the song is the most popular one during the given week then it’s a #1 wtf lol It was introduced in the UK because the record labels own the chart, and they didn't like how streaming was making songs last longer. Before streaming the UK chart was very mobile since songs would be on pre-orders for months, usually peak first week and then quickly fall out of the chart. Mariah was just a casualty of that, no-one is actually annoyed at AIWFCIY's success. For that reason I don't think Billboard are likely to rush out a rule to stop her.

She is getting a bigger boost once it is 1st of December. I am also sure there are a lot more plans for promo! Better playlisting and I could imagine they put it on Today's Top Hits for extra exposure. A cute blockbuster advertisement in US wouldn't hurt either.
