sadnews Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Well as I said, merch was indeed included. Hope we get more deatil on numbers. Great SEA. She is fine.
peterstyles13 Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 That's great Some people in here expecting her to do reputation numbers when the market has declined drastically since 2017
Green Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Quote Only Woman With Six Albums to Sell at Least 500,000 Copies in a Single Week: With Lover’s sales debut of 679,000 copies sold, Swift becomes the first woman to have six different albums each sell at least 500,000 copies in a single week. (The only other act to do so is Eminem.) Swift previously managed the half-million one-week sales feat with the debut weeks of her last five full-length studio albums: reputation (1.216 million, in 2017), 1989 (1.287 million, 2014), Red (1.208 million, 2012), Speak Now (1.047 million, 2010) and Fearless (592,000; 2008). Swift also remains the only act to have four different albums each sell a million copies in a single week.
Prismee Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Quote In addition, Lover is Swift’s first album to be available to stream in full across all streaming services in its first week. Reputation was not available to stream in full during its debut week -- just four pre-release tracks were streamable. Reputation eventually premiered on streaming services on Dec. 1, 2017 -- three weeks after the album’s release on Nov. 10. Reputation’s lack of streaming availability may have driven some fans to purchase the album in its first week, instead of waiting to stream it weeks later. Conversely, Lover racked up a sizable streaming debut (more on that in a moment) likely thanks to its wide availability on streaming services. Billboard worded it well. The fact that Lover was made available on all platforms first week gave casual fans the option to just stream instead of buying a copy. Her streaming numbers are huge, it all makes sense.
GreatestLoveofAll Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 I was really betting on that one million debut but this is still more than what any artist does in two years so she still did THAT
Brishka Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 That's a 30 percent decrease compared to reputation. Not bad, but nothing spectacular. Her album sales actually decreased by 45 percent despite selling four versions of the same album. Anyway, these 1M debuts are over for Tay Tay. Maybe she can pull off one in China. Conservatives have really abandoned her. Perched for these second-week numbers. She will probably spend like two weeks at number one
alejandreaux Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 i love how Taylor selling more than the main pop girls combined first week is still unanimously seen as a “loss” for her for anyone else these numbers would indicate the absolute PEAK of their career.

Green Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 She's coming for Britney's wig: Best selling female album artists of the Soundscan era (1991-2019) By July of 2019: 1. Mariah Carey (55.5 million) 2. Celine Dion (53 million) 3. Shania Twain (35 million) 4. Britney Spears (33.6 million) 5. Taylor Swift (32.7 million) https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/chart-beat/8519784/taylor-swift-career-sales-streaming-totals-2019-ask-billboard Lover sold around 0.7 million pure album sales so the updated list should be: 1. Mariah Carey (55.5 million) 2. Celine Dion (53 million) 3. Shania Twain (35 million) 4. Britney Spears (33.6 million) 5. Taylor Swift (33.4 million) and I'm not even counting her catalog album sales from her previous albums. She will probably pass Britney next week.
IamCY Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 If only the lead was actually good and smashed
cuneytb Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 I think if it wasn’t on spotify directly, the numbrr would be bigger.
Rei Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Can’t believe some arianators and monsters are trying to drag those numbers when Ariana, Gaga and any other popgirl sans Adele will never see those numbers.

She will probably spend like two weeks at number one its sure better than going from 1.1M to 258k Youre a Gaga stan And a Britney stan talking about declines and failing to spend multiple weeks at #1. STOP getting brave

She could have secured another 1M debut if she had done B&B's streaming numbers. Edited September 1, 2019 by Brishka

She's a legend. Congrats queen Some girls don't even do half of it. OT: Congrats, Tay, a certified legend. If my faves opened with these numbers, I'd be in heaven.
